  1. Unfortunatly I am only in BKK for one night, but fortunatly its to head to Puerto Galera in the Philippines for what should be some incredible scuba diving. I will be back the next week in Phuket. The question is though: Will one night in Bangkok make a hard man humble???

  3. Diving is only a dangerous activity if you aren't properly trained. I know it can seem very scary the way some people present it, but they are just trying to make sure you grasp what you are going to be doing. If you stick with it, which I hope you will, you will start to see that its not as bad as it first seemed. I used to have a problem where I didn't like to have my mask off under water. Now, after my Divemaster course, I have no problem taking it off and swimming around.
  4. I'll be around from the 31st until the 8th. I'll be at the Aussie Bar for Steve's birthday (I mean New Years). The rest of the time I'll be around somewhere.
  5. Nice pics. I always love ornate ghost pipefish. Can't wait to get back to the Similians.
  6. Glad to hear you had a good time. Can't wait to see the pics.

    The Joy of Snopes

I found snopes about 4 years ago. Great website!! Gives me something to do on boring days in the office.
  8. Like a lot of other people have said, its the lifestyle, freedom, low cost of living, etc. I meet a lot of people in my travel for work that wonder why I don't want to this in the US. It basically works out to math. I'm 28 now, if I want to live in the US the rest of my life, I would have to work for a long time (probably past 50). However, if I move to Thailand (or Indonesia, Philippines, etc.), I will be able to retire in a few years and never have to work again. So with that said I don't see it being a very difficult decision: A) retire in my mid-30's and live on a beach in Phuket, diving whenever I want, or working until I'm old and gray for a huge corporation where I'm nothing more then employee #802224.
  9. I finally got off my ass this week and got a website back up and running. HERE Right now I only have the first day of my dive trip to Indonesia, but if I can stay motivated I should get some more up before my next trip.

  11. Once again I will be heding to Phuket and was wondering if any TFers will be around for New Year's?? Or, if anyone is interested in doing some diving? I will be there until the 8th.
  12. I will be in Bangkok for one night on Dec. 23rd and am not sure what I want to do for the evening. There is a TF event at Bed Supper Club that evening, but I have checked out the club's website and it doesn't look like my kind of place (too many 'beautiful' people). Can anyone tell me what the place is really like? Or, can some of the TFers signed up for the event convince me to go?
  13. Well it's been a while since I've done much on TF so I thougth I would take the down time this week to get back into the swing of things. Once again the helicopters I work on are off playing in the north, but this time its not an exercise. Hopefully they will all make it back safely, but then again unless their enemy is able to throw a rock into the engine intake or rotor blades their isn't too much to worry about.
