  1. Strange I only really looked at it yesterday and thought it looks really very nice.

Can't remember what the old one looked like now.

You are getting old ror ja, PiAnt eieieieiei

hmmmmmmmmmmmmm please stop saying sweeeeeeeet thing in public before people :puke_right:

  2. So let's do it ppl

Logo or Theme contest. set up the prize, please don't be TF t-shirt...ok?

but who will be judge? Please be someone who are in the designing field.

We don't need the best popular artist to judge ka P'Neung.....Just "Us all, TFers" if participation is the point.

Art, couldn't judge right or wrong but what you like the most from what you see.

I don't know who is the best in art because there are many in the world.

I never believe that all the popular ones are the best because there must be the bestest somewhere.

Everyone has artistic in mind just believe in yourself

  3. I just wonder, out of all the talk and complaints on forums about the new TF, how many people have actually come forward and offered their services or time to actually do anything. I would surely like to shake that (or those) person's hand!

I'm wondering, What can TFers do more in action except comment in here?? We can't give 100 hands to help even if we really want to but we help to improve TF by our opinions which we never get paid for that. It's worth enough for Rob and Bill to write it down and develop their product in the next step.

Every business needs compliment but they will never grown up if no any complaint.

100 heads better than 1 head for sure

Cheers you up!! Rob and Bill

  4. hmm ok Ã×ÃäÃè¾Ò ÃÂèÒàÃÒà·éÒÃÒ¹éÓ ãªèÃÑé¤èÃ

Time to keep my mouth shut now. Good luck with your design then.

As Aom said... hope TF will get better and better...

    with developed thought and soul!

  5. This is not "New Idea" but it works well if you ask for participation.

And one more thing, we don't need only 1 logo but 10-20 or so

then set one up and change another one every month or every 3 months or 6 months up to you

If you don't get the picture....google logo is an example.

    -AL-

  6. Instead of picking new logo or back to the old one why don't we set one "TF LOGO" competition as the first participation?

In deep of people's mind, everyone wants to show off.

no worry if someone can't use photoshop, illustrator or any graphics programs just paint in the paper.

    Just a thought

  7. the whole debate reminds me of a pub near my old house in Swansea. Was a great friendly wee pub; had a football team and a pool team, served good beer, had great pool tables and was always mobbed on a Friday and Saturday night.

Then it was sold, and the new owners completely revamped it as a trendy bar. Pool tables gone, video screens in. Some cask conditioned ales gone, range of trendy wines in. And after spending all that money, it became a lot quieter at the weekends...

Well, p'Ian, sometimes I like change... change for good it's call "Develope"

It make me think about my hospital... Before they renovate patients' rooms... they gave away "post it" paper to the managers, to the customers... asked their opinion "what they'd like to put in the room" So I think the turn out was so great. We got a nice, brilliant patient rooms.

not sure before they do the redesign they do survey? I don't think so. They might forget who make the website succesful.

  8. Until now,

    What i want to say.....

I prefer old TF style. Is it possible to set the old one back?

TFers are less and less active here at the moment including me!

Sorry to say the truth, Rob :?

But you weren't active in Jan or Dec or Nov before the redesign. You've simply been overall, less active. Since I moved here almost a year ago I think I've seen you at only 1 or 2 events (one was your own fancy dress event). A few years ago I don't think I could go to an event and not run into the lovely Ms. Aom. :-)

I'm not pointing a finger at you and saying any of this is your fault. What I'm saying is that it's obvious that you have been less active for a long time. As Marc said, that's simply the nature of people getting older, taking on new responsibilities, etc. To imply that it might in any way have to do with the redesign simply doesn't line up with the facts.

As EB says, the redesign was largely unremarkable. Nothing much changed. A few colors, a header, some things moved around . . . but for the most part this is the same TF people had in Jan before the redesign. Sure, we did introduce a few bugs and we've been trying to get those fixed but anybody if tries telling me that they're less active or quitting the site because they don't like this or that color, I can't really buy into that.

The redesign has been live for about one month. One month! The numbers, level of participation, etc did not all just fall off a cliff a month ago. They've been steadily declining for some time now. All that's changed is now we've given everybody something to point at as the reason. Because if we look at the numbers in Jan, Feb, and so far in March . . . there's been very little change. There's been no sudden decline. There's been no drop off in either the number of page views or the number of unique visitors. If anything we're seeing slightly more traffic because Google has begun to pick up on changes we made to optimize the site better to show up in the search engines.

All I'm saying is, is that I don't want people to blame the redesign when the true issue is much deeper. In theory, we could go right back to the old design tomorrow. Would that change any of the other factors? Would participation on the site immediately jump through the roof? No. In fact, it would have almost zero impact. If we went back to the old design, one month from now we would be sitting around with a bunch of people complaining about the background color or this or that not working the way they want it to, and the numbers would be the same as if we kept this design.

If we want to talk about the truth . . . the truth is that it's less participation by people like you, Aom, that have hurt the numbers. Again, I'm not blaming you. It's just that when you were active you encouraged other people to be active. You spread to word about TF to friends because if they wanted to come see you on a Friday or Saturday night you were probably going to be at a TF event.

The problem is that everyone counted on you and the rest of the - as Marc called it - TF Mafia to keep doing that. Instead, you guys all have real lives that have changed and grown since the early days and for whatever reason you don't have as much time for TF in your lives today.

That's cool. Nobody's blaming you. It's just that a new generation of TF Mafia was never developed. So when the original group moved on with their lives there was nobody behind them to replace them. Nobody was there to step up and organize events, create interesting forum posts and journals, and to spread the word about TF to friends.

That's wh all of the issues with falling participation and such can't be tied back to one month ago. They started a long time ago. They started when you quit coming to as many events as you used to. They started when Fred quit coming to any events or even coming on the site. They started when the TTT gals started to get real lives and spending less time on TF.

What TF needs is to develop a new generation of active members. We're working on that. But people need to give us a little time. Today's issues did not develop overnight and they won't be fixed overnight. We have a ton of stuff in the pipeline. Believe it or not, this will be a very good year for TF. :-)

    Dear Bill,

(First I have to say...."WOW Bill, Thank you for this long replied especially to me!!" lol )

It's true, I wasn't active much as before because I'm getting bored, nothing new to play or do in here. Most of TFers might think the same, I guess. TF is now at the saturation point so this is the right time to improve your product.

I was expected that the NEW TF would have something more interesting to play or something new to get our attention back. It's not only change its look or color! If just that, I prefer the old one which I more used to.

First I joined TF 4 years ago, I was thinking "The vote button" is a clever way to keep TF website active by 100 people in top chart including members who had to online and vote back everyday / week. They were fighting to be in "Top 5" at the homepage (which we have to accept that people want to be known by others)

I was the one who addicted to TF and must online everyday because of that. The more people play the more people online, the more people connection the more grown up. Most people knew eachother before meet up face to face because this vote trick (someone says it's silly but i think this part is success) now it's not new anymore so you should think of new tricks and how to keep people active in TF more than before.

That's wh all of the issues with falling participation and such can't be tied back to one month ago. They started a long time ago. They started when you quit coming to as many events as you used to. They started when Fred quit coming to any events or even coming on the site. They started when the TTT gals started to get real lives and spending less time on TF.

Well, You said you are not blaming me but see see see??

Anyway, I'm sure that TF will get better and better

    Cheers!!

(I'm not TF mafia. I'm just someone you know! lol)

  12. I seriously doubt that the reason for less interaction with the site is because of teething problems following the latest "upgrade".

Yes, there are problems with journals and forums and incorrect formatting and pictures and wotnot; but there always has been. A transition to later software/servers etc will, no doubt, cause issues.

People (as Marc rightly pointed out) move on. The people who contributed so much here previously do less so. Not because the colour changed or because the chatroom won't load, but because of things entirely independent of here.

I think about pages of arguments with Z or V or whoever before; how much I contributed in the past compared to now. Ciaran used to be right in there. And where TF is Whiskers and Stu? People move on.

And the reasons are nothing to do with the new colour scheme or the chatrooms or something like that, but I am not who I was then.

I'm sure Admin is working his arse off (and Rob too - working Admin's arse off) trying to fix the problems. I don't envy their position at all. (All puns intended.)

This site is not the colours, the problems with entering your journal text nor the slow piccy loading.

And if it is for you, then you missed the point entirely.

    what is the point then??

    Exactly.
