I been working in Afghanistan for the last 4 years. If you asked me what I did 2 days ago I would tell you the exact same thing I'm doing right now, and if you asked what I did 2 years ago, the response would be the same. I'm getting burned out and I don't think I can stick around here much longer. Things would be different if I didn't have a crackhead for a boss.

The weather is starting to change again, much quicker then I thought it would happen.  Cold weather is definitely something I’m not looking forward to.  I started pulling out all me cold weather gear the other day, just so that I could be prepared.

     Random Happenings:

    1.  I got a iPhone on my last trip to Thailand.  Now that I have one, I don’t know how I could ever live without it.  Apparently I got one that is super-duper unlocked and I can take it anywhere in the world and have it update without worries of getting it locked.

    2.  I got back into World of Warcraft.  This time my online time is limited (by me).  I give myself 2 hours a night , to prep my characters for the new expansion.

    3.  Bodyslam is a Thai rock band.  A friend posted a music video of them a few months ago and so far I’ve been hooked.  I’m currently in the process of covering one of their songs.

*The picture I posted has nothing to do with my entry.  I just wanted to post a picture.

I thought it was cool at first, but after working with these things for 2 years I hate them!  Well, I'm not sure if it really hate them.  It could just be work that I hate - I just know I hate something.

When I was a little kid, well even now, I used to go through my parents old stuff.  I loved finding old pictures and just old stuff in general.  When my mom passed I went through her things to find pictures, and came across all kinds of things.  I got to see her grades from when she graduated from college (I guess I wasn't the only person that sucked at math) and I had no I idea my dad graduated from Thammasat with an Econimics degree.  I found pictures of my dad playing the drums, I asked him about it and he told me that he was in a band called, "Goldfinger".  My parents were way cooler than I am now, when they were my age.
Here is an old picture of my parents (far right) taken in the 60's before they ventured off to the US.

I never realized this untill my mom passed, but I over heard my dad talking to his friend and said that, since they been married (40 something years) they never been seperated for more then a week.  That was shocking to me because it was true, I don't remember a time when they were away from each other.

If I was to ever get married I want pray that I have the same love my parents had, I hope a little rubbed off on me.

I was in Canada last month with some friends.  The last time I was up in Canada I was six or seven and the only thing I could remember was that I swore that I saw Madonna in Vancouver.  Now its like this weird twilight version of the US.

(I really like this picture; I need a caption)

    This section is

    dedicated to flowers...from Canada.

All these pictures were taken with Canon's new 7d.  I had the chance to noodle around with the video, so I'm going to post it.  Be kind, video is all new to me.  This was shot in Eagle Rock, CA at some fusion sushi joint.

When I went back home to Cali, I ended up buying a car...totally unplanned and not needed.  Why couldn't I have walked in to a fish store instead of a VW dealership.

In other news.  I'll be back to Thailand at the end of them month for my mom's 100 day funeral thingy.  I'll be in Bangkok running around like a chicken with its head cut off, but once everything settles I'm planning on spending the rest of my time training at Tiger Muay Thai down in Phuket.  Anyone wanna come?

I'm a contractor for the US Government and I'm working overseas in Afghanistan.  Since I'm a civilian, I get uber vacation benefits.  I have all the opportunity to travel anywhere I want for 21 day at a time, every 2 months - paid, plus travel expenses.  I'm only allowed 35 days to stay at home, any more then that, I get taxed up the yin-yang.  The only places I go is Thailand (because I know people and most of my family still live there) and California which is home for me.I would love for my friends to come with me but most of them are still in college or working to pay off college loans.  The only people I know that can come with me at my co-workers, which is cool, but most of them are in there 40's and have families.  I've come to understand that if I was going to travel I would go it alone, or pay for my friends...which I've done before. In other news.  I don't understand why people have to be right up on your arse when standing in a line, i.e. Passport Control Point at the airport.  I mean gosh the line isn't going to go any faster!

In high school I swore that this holiday was created to make single people feel unloved and lonely.  I'm happy that, that's not the case anymore...I don't even know it's Valentines until I walk into the super markets and see all the decorations.

I was walking in the mall a few week ago and saw hear this band doing a cover of Silly Fools - it sounded great!  I asked the sales person who that was and he told me Da Endorphine.  Ever since then I haven't listen to anything else.

Me and six other of my friends went out today and decided they wanted to check out what the hype is about an A-Go-Go bar, since none of them have ever been to one...including me.  After a few beer from the local Family Mart we headed out for our adventure.  We found one in the a few soi's down the street.  Racing pass all the "hello welcomes" we made it to the door - finally!  We all started to walk inside until I came the door.  A little Thai guy about 5'4 stopped me and blurted something in Thai, I normally would understand but he had a Southern accent.  I realized that he wasn't letting me in, then I asked him why.  He answered me when a this question, "where you from?"I had to stop and think about it for a second.  I'm Thai, but was born in the states...I wasn't sure what he wanted to hear, my Nationality or Ethnicity.  I went ahead and told him I was American.  He didn't believe me and started to brush me off.  I was already a little tippsy to begin with, so naturally I started to get aggressive as he got louder. At this point I'm not sure what happened but I do remember him punching me on the shoulder and one of the other bouncer/motor cycle taxi guy tried to push my with his foot (teap).  I caught it along with is shoe...which I throw down the street in a fit rage.I'm not known to be like this but I've never been discriminated against before.  I would have never thought it would happen in my Motherland and because I was Thai. ...I got the last laugh. 8p

I just started reading this book today and I can't put it down.
As you all know Facebook is growing ever so popular and things travel and spread at incredible speeds.  Black.  I'm doing the male version. ...indirect fire.  Bunker time - peace.

When I'm back home, if I'm not walking around in the supermarket for 2 hours only to come out with a carton of milk, I would be in Chinatown.  I took this picture of my friend Miko, just before I left.

I saw Avatar a few days ago and loved every bit of it.  But when that guy started talking about Unobtanium and how it cost $20 million a kilo back home, I couldn't stop thinking about how the economy and inflation would be in 2154!  I mean when you think about it, especially the way things are going now for the might (puny) U.S. Dollar; I think with $20 million, I might be able to buy a Slurpee from 7-11 or a Happy Meal.

    10.  Eating an entire large pizza alone is not something to be proud of...sheesh!9.  Don't even thing about paying your friends with baseball card in exchange for doing your homework.  There is a reason why you suck at Math.8.  It's okay to like and write poetry, when you get older chick will find you sexy.7.  If you wanted to join the Army, go to college first and become an Officer and not Enlisted.6. Milk is not your enemy.5. Don't worry so much about the size of it...it get bigger, trust me.4.  Keep in touch with all your tomboy friends, they all grow up and become super hot.3.  That one girl in the 11th grade that always talked to you and asked you for help with her homework and even asked you to come over to her house.  She wanted you.2.  I know you have a lot of hobbies:  turntables, photography, dancing, skateboarding, Muay Thai...stick to one or two and master them, rather then being "kinda okay" at all of them.1.  Your brother is not Satan, just an a**hole.

And here it comes again, New Year’s resolution time.  Every year we start to make their resolutions, let it be from losing weight to getting out of debt, either way it’s a promise that that we make to ourselves.  Last year I made a resolution to spend more time to with my parents rather than going out with my friends.  That resolution broke as soon as I boarded that plane to Afghanistan.
This year I want to keep some my resolutions in arms reach.
Resolution # Uno:  Continue to stay active and live a healthy lifestyle.  So far I’ve been doing great on my diet and exercise (Muay Thai).  The only thing that messes me up is when I take my vacations; I tend to splurge more than my body allows me to.
Resolution # Êç:  Learn to read and write Thai.  When I was little my parents tried to teach me how to read and write Thai.  My Dad would come home from work and devote an hour with me and attempt to teach the alphabet-fail.
Resolution # Three:  Photography = LOVE/LIFE.  After my first photography class in high school I started to see things as if my eyes were lenses.  Everything was a picture to me.   Before I enlisted into the Army I wanted to become a photographer and work for National Geographic or some urban magazine.   I been so busy with work, that I’ve hadn’t had the time to go out and take pictures, but this is due partly because most areas here don’t allow picture taking.
So there it is, short and simple.  I say if I can keep one of the three resolutions, I’m good.

    What’s your resolution?

I recently bought a refurbished MacBook Pro as a upgrade to my old MacBook Pro I bought in 2005 and sold to my brother.  Ever since I gotten this machine I've been having problems with it and I'm pretty fed up.  I wish I could just walk into the Apple store and get it fixed, but since the closes store is thousands of miles away, I can't.  I guess I'm just going to have to tough if out and wait a few more months till I go home.  Let see if I can't make it without throwing this thing out the window!

Today I had a job interview that I applied for a few weeks ago.  At the time I really wanted the position, but now I kinda changed my mind and no longer want the job.  So today I walked into the interview like Peter Gibbons from Office Space, totally relaxed and carefree.  I didn't want the job anymore so I didn't care, but.... I was so relaxed that I think I answered every question perfectly; I even had the room laughing at one point.  I'm afraid that I might have gotten the job.

It starting to snow here in Afghanistanland, which means no work!  Today I sat in my office all day watching movies and drawing stick figures...I love being lazy once in a while.  Anyways, it was my friend's birthday today and I was able to send her a gift, a LensBaby!  It was one of those gifts you wanted, but knew the other person would like it too.  Anyways, if I were ever so blessed to had a kid, I want him/her to be just like this one...nose picking and everything.

After every movie I watched as a kid I always wanted to Re-enact them.  Other then the normal Star Wars and Terminator movies,  that I so passionately loved;  I've always wanted to re-enact Never Ending Story.  Flying around in a giant Labrador, eating rocks, and what I thought was the coolest, finding that book.   Just curious what movies you all want to re-enact.

Its been so long since I been on TF or my Xanga site and blogged, I almost forgot how much I loved it.  I was looking at all my old post and remembered that I used to take a lot of photos.  Almost every entry had some kind of picture that I took from that day.  This is when blogging circles back and makes you realize why you started in the first place.  I have pictures that I forgot I even took and some that I was amazed to see again! Here are some random pictures.

Only a few songs can bring me back to when I was young, care free and without a worry in the world.  When I listen to the last song from Weezer's Blue album, Only In Dreams, I get caught in a whirl and get zapped back to when I was 14.  Actually all the songs form the Blue album and The Bends from Radiohead.  Man...I really heart music.
