  3. ***ADMINISTRATOR NOTE*** BEER IS AND WILL BE IN SHORT SUPPLY I ask everyone to stay calm as we await more information on this crisis. "Brewers tackles beer shortage, but water is priority KWANCHAI RUNGFAPAISARN THE NATION It is not only essential products such as drinking water that are disappearing from retail shelves, as major brewers have acknowledged a shortage of beer at many stores in Bangkok due to the flooding, which has completely disrupted their logistics systems. Beverage-makers have been allocating more working resources to bottled drinking water, which is an essential product in great demand from flood-hit consumers. However, the companies have committed to improving the beer shortage significantly within a month, when the flood water has receded and their logistics systems are back to normal. Chatchai Wiratyosin, marketing director for Singha Corp, yesterday said one of the main problems was that the company cannot deliver its beverages to retailers' warehouses and distribution centres, which have been seriously affected by the floods. "Many transport routes in Bangkok and the suburbs have been cut or blocked by flood waters," he said. The problem of zero supplies at many retail outlets throughout Bangkok is also caused by the temporary shutdown of Singha's major brewery in Pathum Thani. "It is also quite difficult to deliver beers from our Khon Kaen factory to Bangkok. Our priority has been to bring drinking water from the plant, which is essential and needed by those affected by the flooding," Chatchai said. The shortage of Singha's beer is expected to last for about a month, he added, until the flood water |has declined and the logistics system has returned to normal. THAIBEV'S LOGISTICS WOES Thai Beverage's two beer and drinking-water factories, at Bang Ban and Wang Noi in Ayutthaya, have been blocked by the flood water, with transport to and from the facilities completely cut. Thapana Sirivadhanabhakdi, president and chief executive officer, yesterday said the beer shortage was caused by logistics problems, as the company could not deliver to retail stores. He said the lead time for distributing beverage products from its plants in Ayutthaya to Bangkok had increased from two and a half hours on average to between six and eight hours because of the floods. Distribution from its Kamphaeng Phet factory takes even longer, having increased from six and a half hours to 10. Thapana said ThaiBev had made the production of bottled drinking water its priority, as it is a vital need for people hit by the flooding. "We are even looking at using glass beer bottles to contain water if the shortage of drinking water becomes more severe," he added. He said that to ease the problem, the company had joined with modern-trade retailers, such as 7-Eleven, in distributing its products directly to their logistics hubs. ThaiBev has moved its sales and logistics sites from Vibhavadi-Rangsit Road and Lak Si to Chon Buri to avoid any flood impact. "We expect the shortage of our beer products at major retail outlets will last a month, until the beverage factories in Bang Ban and Wang Noi are back to normal operations," Thapana said."
  4. I really love the photography, but that music was pretty terrible.
  5. EVERYONE!

Please note that this is the good English_Bob's profile and NOT Engrish_Bob's (with an R instead of an L).

This guy is good, and someone is out there trying to make him look bad.

  6. Niki Amornsub or Kwita Amornsub from KP Agency is a scammer (I'll use both her names, Niki Amornsub and Kwita Amornsub so in hopes of taking over her name for google searches). I just thought I'd throw this out there to help anyone else that might come across her path. She is basically a travel agent that rips people off when the time is right. The worst part about this is that I have been a friend and customer of hers for over 7 years. I'd give her about 200k of business per year on average, so I never thought anything of paying cash for my family's flight back to the states. We arrived at the counter for our baby's first flight, and the guy says that I only have tickets for Jeab and Jasmine...nothing for Mr. Farang. I try and call Niki Amornsub at 3 in the morning but her phone is off (huge red flag in Thailand). I'm forced to buy another ticket at the desk as I'm not about to let my wife travel 24 hours alone with a 6 month old baby. Since this happened, we got seated in separate seats, which made the flight even worse than expected. Anyway, Kwita Amornsub never even bought my ticket. She gave me a fake confirmation, which I had no reason to doubt. She was slow to reply once we got back to the states, and has been leading me on a chase since then. 5 weeks ago she fell off the face of the earth by shutting off her phone and not replying to my e-mails. It was then that I started to call old friends and research her a bit on the net. She's been scamming mofos left and right to a tune of a million baht so far. There's even a Facebook group of haters. I'm working on getting my money back, and I'm confident that I will. It's not really the money, it's getting duped by someone I considered to be a friend. I mean she came to a few of my birthday parties, bought Jasmine a small gift, wanted to have baby days with her baby and husband (Thomas Volkmann), and was always nice to me and Jeab. It hurts. I haven't learned much from this because I can't just go around and not trust anyone I've known for less than 7 years, but I do promise that she will learn a lot from this. Niki, you've messed with my trust and my family. My contacts have gotten the names and addresses of your family members, Punnavidh Amornsub and Pichet Amornsub. Give me an appropriate reply here or via e-mail by Monday, or I will have people knocking on doors. I promise that I will be relentless. Rob. And here are her pics.

  12. The Hua Hin trip hosted by Darren (Shamu) was fantastic. I can't thank him enough for treating us all to such a great weekend. We'll have to do it again soon. I didn't take too many pics, sorry that I didn't get everyone (especially all you non-swimmers).Anyway, upon checking in to the place that StevieJR recommended, we knew it was going to be an interesting stay after this welcome notice: We unpacked, showered, then headed over to Shamu's gorgeous 3 bedroom house for a swim. StevieJR and KingLing were getting quite close... Until KingLing just couldn't stop himself... Then they had a sad breakup (broken heart). After conquering Goliath, Stevie reaped his reward. Off to Andy's (poolshark) bar, we went for some food and drinks. Some food at the Lucky Shot bar. It was George's (I_am_George) birthday at midnight, so he decided he would reward the ladies with a table dance. Off to the Hilton Club we went...Before that, Shamu and some shy TF'ers... The birthday boy just getting warmed up... The rest of the pics aren't allowed on TF. Again, sorry to those that I didn't get pics of...we'll see you at the next party.Happy Birthday to George, and thanks again and again to Darren. http://s277.photobucket.com/albums/kk43/Kawadar/?action=view&current=Hua1.jpg' target="_blank">
