seems our dear joeska is not the only poet in our midst. thomas_k also reckons himself a poet. for me, his work pales in comparison to the great one. i find it creepy and trite. but as a great humanitarian, i must post it in case others will enjoy it:

Hi Guys !!!! (found it good... thoughts to share ...) Today, upon a bus, I saw a girl with golden hair I looked at her and sighed and wished I was as fair. When suddenly she rose to leave, I saw her hobble down the aisle. She had one leg and used a crutch But as she passed, she passed a smile. Oh, God, forgive me when I whine (Complain) I have 2 legs, the world is mine. ~~ I stopped to buy some candy The lad who sold it had such charm I talked with him a while, he seemed so very glad If I were late, it'd do no harm. And as I left, he said to me, "I thank you, you've been so kind. It's nice to talk with folks like you. You see," he said, "I'm blind." Oh, God, forgive me when I whine (Complain) I have 2 eyes, the world is mine. Later while walking down the street, I saw a child with eyes of blue He stood and watched the others play He did not know what to do. I stopped a moment and then I said, "Why don't you join the others, dear?" He looked ahead without a word. And then I knew, he couldn't hear. Oh, God, forgive me when I whine I have 2 ears, the world is mine. With feet to take me where I'd go. With eyes to see the sunset's glow. With ears to hear what I would know Oh, God, forgive me when I whine. I've been blessed indeed, The world is mine.

My love is like an ocean It goes down so deep My love is like a rose Whose beauty you want to keep. My love is like a river That will never end My love is like a dove With a beautiful message to send. My love is like a song That goes on and on forever My love is like a prisoner It's to you that I surrender.

joeska the first truly great poet of the 21st century has passed through our ranks, with barely a whimper of appreciation from the great unwashed. joeska's literary revolution is a wave that hasn't broken yet in the rest of the world. we may not have his depth of understanding of this whole human trajesty, but having witnessed his technique and copied it--i mean, been INFLUENCED by it, we can apply our own medicre talents using his methods and ride on his coattails to become minor historical figures in the first great literary movement of the 21st century: babelfish poetry. here's how it's done. either write something in english, or steal it-- errr, i mean *appropriate* a text. it doesn't need to be a poem. it will be come art when you joeska it. use babelfish to translate it into german, here's the link: babelfish use babelfish again to translate it back to english.

Let?s add up a bit of fresh air in this forum and rehearse for Valentine: post your favorite love poem: Meeting at Night By Robert Browning The gray sea and the long black land; And the yellow half-moon large and low; And the startled little waves that leap In fiery ringlets from their sleep, As I gain the cove with pushing prow, And quench its speed i' the slushy sand. Then a mile of warm sea-scented beach; Three fields to cross till a farm appears; A tap at the pane, the quick sharp scratch And blue spurt of a lighted match, And a voice less loud, through its joys and fears, Than the two hearts beating each to each!
