Are you interested in technical stuff concerning public transport? Do you like technical stuff from grandpa's time until today? Do you like Vienna? And if you can't answer this question because you do not know Vienna - would you like to know Vienna? If yes, the following might be interesting for you: http://www.thailandfriends.com/group...203&do=discuss Actually, this line does not exist anymore. It is not called "J" anymore but "2" and they have changed its routing

First off, let me be honest in a positive fashion, RAK!!! the MRT and BTS, personally I've never encountered any delays or troubles which is an amazing thing if you're used to Dutch public transportation. I know it happens though, exactly one week ago I was lucky while using the BTS to travel to the farthest station (for now that is) but the people I was going to meet there weren't so lucky and had delays, it was close but still I didn't suffer the problem directly. So far So good... The train... I just avoid it, the times I used it I just remained calm and patient... no worries, it's ok, no need to ***** on them trains. The mini vans, the pick up trucks, the small trucks, they all try to do their part, no complaints ...BUT... what's up with the bus man?!!!! I really don't get the way they/it works... I honestly hope someone can offer some insight or inside information because it doesn't make sense to my battered brain. For about 18 months I have been using it to get back home, if you're lucky it arrives within 15 minutes of waiting, don't get me wrong, it isn't always that bad, sometimes you don't have to wait at all if you're up for running a bit. But what's up with this... the same bus number has different routes and different destinations, for example you have 141 which goes from Rama4, Khlong Toei to Samut Prakarn and back, waiting for it on Suksawat Road makes you see things you can't believe, you're waiting for the 141 and hey there it is!!! ...and there it goes, it drives straight on through and doesn't steer left to get its rusty ass onto the highway, this happens 2 maybe 3 times, sometimes they are RIGHT behind each other, one having 30 people, the other 3 people... :? ...so I thought one day let's get on that one, since it's the number I need it probably ends up where I need to go but when you let the ticket seller in on where you're headed she tells you no in a 'little Brittain" way and tells you to get out. On the other end you see the same number pass like 6 times an hour, EXACTLY the spot where you exit the bus EXACTLY THE SAME SPOT, EXACTLY THE SAME NUMBER, but that bus only appears 2 times per hour in the opposite direction. the 141 is just an example, I've seen it before with other numbers, I am aware of the signs in the rear window but they seem to forget to change those boy boy so that is something that's useless, I can understand they go to the same destinations but one takes the shortcut but then why do they decide to follow each other almost running into each other with one filled and one almost completely empty, why wouldn't they go like "HEY, my man in front of me is blocking my way and he's getting all the customers, we're headed to the same destination, why don't I just course correct here and prevent people from waiting for ...well...not nothing but waiting longer than needed, like 45 or 60 minutes sometimes? And why do other numbers pass at least 3 or 4 times (like the 140 and 142... ironic isn't it?) nearly empty as well.... someone... anyone, I'm wacking my brains here :?: :!:
