Unintentional negative off-shoots of the peaceful Thai style

Question

mmmmmmmmmmm, recent events, mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

Thinking psychologically and sociologically about the last few years and it's build up to the recent pivotal point of 'BANG!' in our lovely, if somewhat untidy, Krung Thep

I really believe the Thai passive approach to.... virtually everything which needs a bit of challenging to sort out has lead to this explosive/release of anger. It is a combination of hundreds of unaddressed issues over several generations that have been 'mai-pen-rai-ed' into the background. Now this recent upsurge in challenging behavior has served as a release for all these things. People who hardly have anything to do with it are going ape ****.

Maybe if people talked about there feelings more on other issues there would be less pent-up emotion looking to pop like a pressure cooker.

Just my 2 satangs.

Not that I think there's a need for yet another thread on the subject, but, fortunately or unfortunately (depending on your point of view) something that had to be done, has been done.

Tongues have been held, leeway has been given and swords have been stayed.

And, despite whatever you think of the encumbent powers, good or bad, they've let the protesters get their point across with all the freedoms (and more) that a Western "democracy" would (or would not more likely).

But enough has now become enough. They will gain no further ground by continuing their actions.

It's become blatantly obvious that they have absolutely no intentions of negotiating anything. Nor, it seems, of accepting any olive branches or mediation. They (not the vast majority, just the hard core) are merely in it to cause as much trouble and discomfort as they possibly can.

Perhaps, now there's some injuries and it looks like it's gonna kick off serious, the bulk of them will just bugger off.
