"Swinging" are sex parties illegal in Thailand ?

Question

Just saw this headline on 'News' site from Pattaya

http://www.pattayadailynews.com/en/2010/06/13/deviant-%E2%80%9Cswingers%E2%80%9D-party-raided-by-ahtd-police-in-pattaya/

It seems that the Police raided a house where a group of married couples were engaged in a 'sex party' No what exactly is illegal about this ? It was held in private and the revellers were all consenting adults... The only thing I could see that might have made a difference was the Police confiscated some sex toys and the owner of the house who had organised the venue had charged each couple 3000 baht to join.. If it had been a free party and there hadn't been any sex toys does that mean it would have been legal..

Funnier still it says the police had been conducting an 'undercover' (maybe they meant 'under the cover') operation to penetrate the 'swingers club

Seems weird that consenting adults having an orgy would be any business of the police unless it involved drugs or minors.. '

It's ok to buy services from hoes along the beach at night..

but it's not ok to arrange swinging party with the entrance fee..

Better inform the police first if you want to have next party,

they might charge abit but at least you know they will stay away from you..

Ps. When is the next party?

I should be in Thailand in Nov - Jan..

Clothing optional, join in or observe... singles and couples..

Sign up !! Sign up !

Would prolly end up with half a dozen male TF'ers sat in a room on their own wondering when the 'fun' was gonna start...

But PM me in when u arrive plenty of 'party' in Pattaya...

There was another case of a farang guy and his Thai wife who had a 'swingers' resort' in Isaan.

It was a nudist colony and featured sex parties.

There was free alcohol for local ladyboys and girls.

Eventually they stopped offering the free alcohol, because the local boys were showing up in droves wearing their sisters' dresses and getting sloshed every night.

They were forced to close by authorities and lost a bundle of money.

Yep I remember reading about them.. There were quite a few threads about them on some of the Pattaya 'Boards' I heard that they had started up again and them getting raided by the BiB was all a ''misunderstanding'' ... No doubt fixed up with a small donation...

Things have become much more liberal in parts of Asia over the last 10 years.. Places like HK, Singapore and Taiwan have a thriving 'swinger' and 'sex party' scene..

Funny is the fact that those countries used to be seen as repressed where Thailand was 'party central'  Oh how things have changed :!:

Thailand is becoming another 'nanny' state.. only the rules aren't enforced just used as leverage for extortion by the cops... sad :?
