Chuvit: How much time does he have?

With all the uproar that Chuvit is causing, I wonder how long it will take for someone to take him out, or if he is too public and powerful now to be taken out.

He's exposed people at the highest points in Thailand for corruption, and has certainly stopped a lot of black money moving through the system. If he was anyone else, I'd expect him to be dead by the end of the month. However, he is Chuvit. I'm sure he has a lot more dirt that he isn't releasing. If I were one of the corrupt officials, I'd worry that he'd keep unearthing more of my shit and take him out (in my Hollywood world).

Anyway, I just can't see this going on forever. I like what he is doing, but he has balls of steel. Lets put it to a vote...you'll remember what you voted. If you guessed correctly, I'll vote for you...twice. Maybe even send you a virtual kiss.

He's done this before.

He named names and exposed top people when he was paying bribes for the massage parlours.

I expected him to be killed then, but he's almost certainly got a whole bunch of evidence about a whole load of other people ready to be released upon his death.

The only way he will be killed is by someone who he has completely ruined and has nothing left to lose so take revenge.

I read something about that. He's talked about taking precautions by putting what he knows in the hands of people who will release everything if he dies under mysterious circumstances.

Rather than someone killing him, there are probably a lot of people who would love to offer him protection :-)

And someone who has to be sure that there is no evidence about him in some safes that after Chuvit's death would not be revealed. Don't forget about the boomerang effect!

that seems a reasonable assumption ... i loved the way he videoed the casino getting emptied after his "expose" .... really did make the police look like complete dicks ... which while not a difficult thing to do in Thailand .... generally isn't good for ur health !!!!

Chuvit: Bangkok casinos have reopened

Six major gambling dens in Bangkok have reopened and are operating as normal, Rak Thailand Party leader and MP Chuvit Kamolvisit said on Monday.

In a Facebook message, Mr Chuvit said he wanted to announce to everyone that illegal gambling spots across the capital had returned to normal operations.

He named them as:

1. King Petch casino in Petchburi Soi 5

2. Ood Tai casino in Sukhumvit Soi 77 (On Nut)

3. Loy Faa casino in Pinklao area

4. Sor casino in Bang Kapi area (Lat Phrao Soi 112 and 119)

5. Wang Hin Intersection casino, opposite Tesco-Lotus supermarket’s Wang Hin branch

6. Nok Khao casino at the 11 kilometre marker on the local road, near Wat Samian Naree.

He said the casinos are open 24 hours every day, including public holidays.

He denied a rumour that he had accepted money offered by the underground gambling racket to stop exposing their illegal operations.

“I’ve never thought of accepting it, so don’t bother sending anyone to contact me,” the former massage parlour tycoon said.

Casinos under the jurisdiction of Provincial Police Region 1, near Or Tor Kor 3 Market in Nonthaburi province and Talad Thai market and Si Mum Muang central market in Pathum Thani were also operating normally, the list MP added.

Mr Chuvit posted his message after Pol Maj Gen Pachara Boonyasit, chief of Metropolitan Police Division 1, sued him, accusing him of insulting an on-duty officer and of defamation.

According to the lawsuit, Pol Maj Gen Pachara said he was ordered to maintain law and order in Petchburi Soi 5 on July 2 when Mr Chuvit and his associates tried to inspect a gambling den he alleged to be operating in the soi, but met with a violent response from residents in the neighbourhood.

Pol Maj Gen Pachorn said when he arrived at the scene Mr Chuvit was surrounded and people were throwing ice cubes at him. He then escorted the MP from the scene for his safety.

However, Mr Chuvit told reporters that the officer did nothing except to try to get him to leave the area. He had turned a blind eye to the casino and that he received bribes from the racketeers.

This damaged his reputation, Pol Maj Gen Pachara said.

He's stirring it up again :-)
