The website makes it look much bigger then lol

some area like 2 play-theater,factory area and few restuarant have not been finished yet. Moreover, many old-fashion goods were not yet sell. Most stuffs for me, are seem like JJ market except the beautiful buliding and river front area. ( wanna see the picture i took? visit my face book :))

It's more fuel on the fire of passion that Thai people have for simulated culture, and I'll probably go as it's nice to have somewhere to sit outside and drink.

Thailand either needs to go big or go home in terms of tourism. Stuff like this is interesting but nobody is going to come to Thailand just for that. So, much like all of the other shows, temples, and shopping complexes, it will get buried as a "nice to see" in most of the travel guides. Sort of like the ladyboy cabaret or the culture park/show. Nice. Entertaining. But you certainly wouldn't feel like you missed anything if you didn't go.

Thailand needs something un-Thai. Like a casino resort (think Marina Bay Sands in Singapore) or a Disney World or something on the scale.

You may be right that people are not coming JUST for that, but last Sunday proved that they are going there once they are in Bkk. The shuttle boats were overcrowded between about 6.30pm and at least 8.00pm, both going and coming.

My wife told me that this would be the substitute of Suan Lum Night Market and indeed, the setup is similar, just more modern and in an enhanced version. Nice to go there and to see but for sure not a shopping mile once you have to look at the contents of your wallet.
