German man drowns off Koh Chang

A 55-year-old German man drowned off Koh Chang after going out to sea to bring his two sons back to shore amid strong waves on Saturday.

Christoph Ralf Sigloch had gone into the water off Khlong Phrao beach to check on his sons because his Thai wife Sunantha was concerned that they were swimming too far from shore, said Pol Lt Col Man Rodthong, a tourist police inspector in Trat.

While swimming, the father suddenly began to appear exhausted and then drowned. His wife immediately called for help from staff of the hotel where the family were staying.

Russian loses life in red flag swim at Karon Beach

Quote

A Russian man was pronounced dead shortly after lifeguards at Karon Beach pulled his unconscious body from the surf yesterday morning.

Lifeguards reported that the 50-year-old man entered the water in the red flag (no-swimming) zone at the beach and disappeared in the surf about 11am.

Many Chinese tourists injured in bus crash in Phuket’s Patong beach again

About 20 Chinese tourists were injured when the tour coach they were travelling in a developed brake failure and rammed at the rear of a van before crashing  into a temple wall as it was descending down a hilly road to Patong beach in Phuket last night.

Three Foreign Tourists Assaulted in One Night in Pattaya

Three foreign tourists were physically assaulted in two separate incidents on Thursday night in the resort town of Pattaya.

In the same night, a motorcycle taxi allegedly robbed his Russian passenger, and police said a Japanese and a Swedish tourists were attacked by two Thai men previously linked to assault of a foreigner.

Drowning caused death of Chinese tourist found unconscious off Phi Phi, say doctors

Police have confirmed that doctors from Phi Phi Island Hospital found no evidence of health issues with the Chinese tourists who was found unconscious during a visit to Phi Phi Island last Sunday (Sept 11), and that the man’s death resulted from drowning.

American man found dead in Patong apartment

Quote

Investigations are underway into the death of an American man, whose body was found in a rented apartment in Patong Tuesday night.

The body of 63-year-old Horace Nelson Higdon Jr was found after a housekeeping staff member noticed a foul smell coming from inside the third-floor apartment at the Fasai Apartment & Home on Pisitkoranee Road.
