zeusbheld
Smells Like Teen Spirit - Nirvana i heard a quote from kurt cobain somewhere--he was a great admirer of the pxiies and that song was his attempt to write a pixies song, more or less. not gonna pick an all time favorite song coz it changes every 5 min, but my fav pixies song is "caribou"--to my knowledge, the only song ever written about rejecting being human and turning into a caribou. fav velvet underground song is (since a few mentions of 'sunday morning' is 'sweet jane' although don't press me to pick a favorite version or i'll have to go with "i found a reason," which never made it onto an 'official' album as far as i know. English_George
It's really tough to pick a favorite song, if you listen to a song too much then it becomes standard and unspecial.......To choose one would have to be a song that is associated with a "moment" in your life. When you listen to it, it stirs emotions from that "moment". In which case my song would have to be: 'It stoned me' - Van Morrison It reminds me of when I was living with my sister and laughing and joking. Whenever i listen to that song I think back to those times and realise how special they were. One of the hardest things to recognise is how special moments are when then are happening. Great song...........great reminiscenece.

WHISKERS
I'm like so many other people . . . it's so hard just to choose one. So many different catagories and styles. so many different artists. It depends on my mood I guess. This morning I was listening to some soul . . . real soul. The definition of soul . . . ?? Otis Redding!! Try a little tenderness Sitting on the dock of the bay I've been loving you Whenever I hear any of these songs, I just have to stop and listen. Don't talk to me because I won't hear you. His music comes from way down deep inside . . . simply amazing . . .
Lillebror
Here's one for you to check out, but musically and lyrically Manfred mann's earth band - questions I heard it for the first time in 76, it never left the top of my list. The only time I really can say; love at first sight.. Ehh, first listen.. ;-)

chrispilok
MEMORY - ELAINE PAIGE midnight. not a sound from the pavement. has the moon lost her memory? she is smiling alone. in the lamp light the whitherd leeves collect at my feet. and the wind begins to moan. memory. all alone in the moonlight. i can smile at the old days, i was beautiful then i remember the time i knew what happiness was. let the memory live again every street lamp seems to beet a fatalistic warning. someone mutters and a street lamp gutters and soon it will be morning. daylight. i must wait for the sun rise. i must think of a new life and i mustant give in. when the dawn comes tonight will be a memory too. and a new day will begin burnt out ends of smoky days, the stale cold smell of morning. the street lamp dies, another night is over, anotherd day is dawning. touch me. its so easy to leave me allalone with the memory of my days in the sun. if you touch me you'll understand what happiness is. look, a new day has begun. Wow, what a rip off of T.S. Eliot. I guess this is what they call a tribute
