I will be in BKK on Nov 4th and stay there for a few days with my fiance and we thinking of checking all these places .

Laos , Vietnam , Cambodia , Malaysia , Singapore , Myanma and Brunei .

We both carry an American passport but I also do have Thai passport as well .

I heard in some country would just let you in if you have a Thai passport or will cost a lot cheeper than carrying an American passport . So I don't really know what to use plus I don't really feel like carry 2 passports around .

I do need some information about where to go , what to do , what to buy , where is the best hotel in town and where to eat ( a good food ) .

I would love to know a few good restaurants in BKK as well .

Somwhow we would love someone to drive us around in CM , Ko-rat and Cha-am . Where can I hire a driver that maybe has his own car or we even going to rent a car ourself .

And if it's possible to drive to Cambodia , Laos and Vietnam ? If so what do we have to do ?

Somehow both of us have been to all these places way back then and just a few hours for a business trip . But now we planing to take a couple of months off and really try everything there .

We also would love to go to Sri lanka as well and maybe a few days trip to Bali ...

PS. Where to get the best Custom-Made Suits in BKK ?

Thank you for your help :)

Edited : Do we have to get a visa to any of those places . I checked and they all said I have to get it all from here but you know how it is ... Some country will just let you have a visa when you get there ... Right ?

I just booked this " The One Hotel Angkor " in the heart of Siem Reap . Is there anything interesting to do around there ?

Is Chi-va-som the best spa to go to in Thailand ? Where can we get the best massage in BKK ?

We somehow have been to Hanoi for a month so now we would love to try something more different for Vietnam .

Is there any nice resort to go to in Thailand ( North or East ) ?

I used to go to Sukothai hotel for the best thai food ... Are they still best ?

I need help booking a room at Jim Thompson's and Conrad in BKK .

Can't think of anything now ... Any good advice ?

Hi, Posh .............. how r u? Long time, no sea. :P

Well, I can't tell you much abt Thailand as u probably will know it better than me. I never been to Cambodja and I stay just for stop overs in both Singapore, KL (2 days). Myanmar is nice to visit. I think u need to apply for a visa before u go there. Yangon and Mandalay r worth to visit for the temples, pagoda's and forts. Don't forget to visit old PAGAN, an archaeological zone with abt 2000 old temples. Stay there for a few days adn hire a bicycle (expect to get at least 2 flat tyres a day). The people are really friendly and it could be that u are invited to drink some tea (happened to me anyway).

Considering Laos I would recommend to go to Luang Brapang and Vang Vien (this is really a scenery place).

I loved Hanoi in Vietnam (a very green town with lot of interesting things to see and to do) and I prefer it over Saigon (which is just another big citie). U can also take the train between both cities and there are some nice places (for instance Hoi Ann) to visit.

Thank you ! Will check it all out ... For Myanmar , I went to Yangon as a student exchange before long time ago . Wasn't really happy about being there .

But this time I would love to try all those beaches they have . Don't know if Nov is a good time to go . But it will be 50-40F here ... So I guess it will be warm enough for us ...

Venus : I kinda like the idea of a small boutique hotel as I love bed and breakfast here ( in Maine or somewhere nice ) . But the boy doesn't really like it . Maybe I will try to put him up with it . Thank you !

Yellow : I guess I will be using my Thai passport then . Seem like a better !

Father : Thxs !! Yes , long time no see . I have been very busy with work and Mister Mason . Can't wait to get away from the city ! Will check everything out ...
