MiiOoan
Has anyone gotten a Korean work visa through the Bangkok embassy? I have to make a visa run, and I only have a few days to get it done. Japan and Hong Kong have great embassies, from what I hear, but I'd like to sit on a Thai beach while I wait for it. Have you had any problems, or any praise for the Korean embassy in Thailand? Thanks! Mark
jimy
I'm bumping this up...not the same question. But still a related topic.... My question is regarding a Thai citizen visiting Korea. Is it still true that Thais do NOT need a visa for Korea? I think i remember reading that somewhere. Or is it that they get a visa on arrival? Thanks for anyone who has any info...or esp any Thais who have visited Korea recently? How easy/difficult was it for you to enter Korea? jimy
Thanks for that info sweethoney... Yes, I am having my friend call the Korean embassy just to be sure. jimy
I was in Kathmandu last November. It's not a real expensive place...they have western places like Shangri-La, Radisson, Hyatt that are $150 and up. But the Thamel area is full of little guesthouse that are probably no more than $20-30...it's an interesting place. Especially if you are into trekking, obviously. jimy
Wanted to make a follow-up post here...about the experience of my friend's visit to S. Korea. It ended up ok, but she was pulled aside at immigration and taken into the immigration office and questioned for approx 1 hr, before they finally granted her entry to Korea. She said they just kept asking her...where she will stay, who she knows, how much money she has, etc. All the standard questions - she said she remained calm and smiled and answered all the questions. Even joking around the Imm officer (told him..."dont worry, its too cold for me to stay here more than 1 week!!) So she had a nice visit, even got to see snow falling...and got back to Thailand 2 days before the airport got shut-down!!
jimy
Yeah, i was getting concerned because I could see the most of the people on the flight had come thru. I had entered Korea the previous day so I wasn't with her. After awhile I called her on her phone, and she told me she's in the office and just talking to them. But she has travelled before, she wasn't nervous or scared. Just answered all the questions, and told the truth. She wasn't entering Korea to work, or any other bad purpose...she was just there for a 1 week holiday with her bf... and it all worked out ok in the end...next up maybe trying for South Africa...i see it's on the list also
