The topic for this months photo competition as chosen by last months winner clemenf is:

"Sunset"

Please send your entries by 25/07/2008 to photo.comp@ hotmail.co.uk (remember to remove the space between @ and hotmail if copy and pasting).

The rules for the competition can be found here.

Please pay attention to what you need to include with your entry before sending it off.

You can send a photo you have already or go out and shoot something specific for this topic...it's up to you.

Please, just don't use any photos you have previously posted here because the entries in the voting thread will be anonymous.

Although it is a competition it is supposed to be sanook. Do not be shy entering just because we have some resident photographers that could well contribute to the National Geographic. If you enjoy photography join in whatever your equipment (I don't have a digital SLR either) or your level is.

We can all learn from the discussions we will have about the entries and hopefully improve our techniques and style.

I sincerely hope that there will be more entries this month, so I won't be forced to enter a picture of my own with no hope of garnering any votes again just to make up the numbers.

Feel free to give the thread an occasional bump to remind people.

Thanks and good luck to everybody....and now go out and get snapping! 8)

I agree, it isn't the best time of the year for taking sunset pictures if you live in Thailand. And if you live in the UK, there is no good time in the year for it at all...just shear pot luck to catch a good one.

Still, the entries are rolling in I'm glad to report. So keep sending them folks.

Sun sets here in London pretty late too. It rained continuously for over 12 hours yesterday though, and the forecast is not a lot better for the coming days. :-(

I don't think this weekend will provide much joy in capturing anything exceptional with more heavy showers forecast (finally, we have a proper English summer again  )...but you still got next weekend to try. :)

Well I have scouted out a few places by the River Thames where I might get a shot of the sunset. Just have to wait for the clouds to clear enough to see the sun now. :-)

It was quite an amazing sunset last night with the rain clouds all lit up in red and purple and a rainbow thrown in for good measure....and as usual when coming across such scenes I have no camera with me...dooohhh :x
