PowerPlay
Hey friends... Going to Chiang Mai tomorrow. I've been there a few times but have sort of fallen into this routine whenever I go of eating, drinking, hanging out at Good View and Riverside, the reggae bars, lounging about. I've taken a moto to Pai, and to Soi Duthep a few times before too. So, have already checked that off my list. But, what else would you recommend? Are the trekking things fun? I've always avoided them because they seemed a bit touristy. Thanks for anything you can suggest. I will be there about three days.

Bruce551
Head up to Mae Teang and Chiang Dao. Mae Teang as the Elephant conservation center, mountain biking, white water rafting and a big revisor lake with bungalows. Check out, http://www.punpunthailand.org/ Chiang Dao is nice area, big mountain, good hiking, huge caves, and guesthouses. Rent a motorcycle in CM drive to Doi Inthanon, there's a Karen guesthouse up there if you want to spend the night.
