Well I got great news from the motorcycle dealer today....Seems that the manufacturer (Yamaha) is going to fix my bike for free even though the warranty had just expired. Seems that they agreed that the problem was not a normal "wear and tear" kind of issue. It appears that the nut holding the front pulley for the belt drive "backed off" a bit and caused the pulley to become damaged. My hat goes off to the guys down there at Pflueger Honda/Yamaha in "Waipahu, Hawaii" who went to bat and convinced "Yamaha" to authorize the work to be done. They saved me "A LOT" of money. A big "mahalo" to you all.
