Past times part 1
As you guys are celebrating Songkran over in Thailand and I am stuck here in London I was starting to feel jealous of your celebrations. All of a sudden I was thinking of my life and I thought wow my life has already been a fantastic enjoyable journey. So I thought I would share some of the things that have made me smile in my life in no particular order.Visiting New York, I only went for a few days but crammed in loads of stuff, some of my favorite things wereRecord shopping in greenwich village, Found some fantastic shops and great people to talk to about music.Seeing the Chrysler Building, in my opinion the best building ever, pure styleEating loads, foods everywhere in NY Talking to NY taxi drivers and hearing great stories Going in a helicopter around the Manhattan skyline Visiting LAMy dad lived in LA for most of my life so I visited quite a few times As a child I remember going to Disneyland several times, also universal studios and a great pizza place called Chucky CheeseAs an adult my visits included a back stage tour of Fox film studios (a friend of the family worked for them)Record shopping in Melrose Avenue, This was great, I was getting tickets to see the Vestax scratching championships (DJ competition) for my birthday several years ago, I got talking to a guy about music in a shop called wax records, it turned out he knew a DJ friend of mine in the UK and next thing I knew he put me on the guest list for a night he was DJing that was on the same night as the Vestax competition. The great thing was the other DJ on the night was a man called Francois Kevorkian. I almost could not believe it, this guy had been my idol for many years, he was an pioneer in the DJ world and we got to have a beer and talk music. What a great birthday that was. Well just a couple of good memories and I will share more soon
