Back home
I had a wonderful few days in Tanzania attending a conference, and made a few excellent contacts there. The conference content was nothing spectatically new, I am quite comfortable with Monitoring and Evaluation theory but that wasn't really the main point I guess.
I got a bit of a surprise when I got back home however. The organizers didn't seem to tell us about the need for a Yellow Fever injection. This cost ZAR 500 at OR Tambo airport (it is even more expensive for those who want to pay in Dollars, Euros or Pounds), and my arranged for driver didn't come so ZAR 350 to my home in Pretoria (not too bad I guess). Anyway my employer will be presented with those two bills.
That night (Thursday) I phoned my parents, then my girlfriend and finally my brother and got myself ready for work on Friday. It was a nice week.
Sadly no pics, but a big thanks to inWEnt for arranging a nice conference nonetheless
