Why I like to reply and write journal than participate in the forum.

Recently, I have replied to a forum message concerning Thai-Cambodia issue. This topic was very interesting and posters were very passionate and I was so keen to follow it. However, I was so annoyed and frustrated by the format and length of the forum, so I'm simply stop following the issue. So fast forward the clock to 10 mins ago, I have replied a journal and was so thrilled at how easy and convenience writing a journal really is. So much so that I have write a seperate journal about it:)
So any TFers out there have similar expereinces about forums and journals as me?
