The following is a message I received in my email from a member of couchsurfing.com. 

Hallo my friend,

sorry for not to write your name as I write to a number

of people.

I will travel to Thailand from 6th nov .to 5th dec.,

plan to stay a few days in a quite place in Bangkok

and then travel to Isaan by train.

As my financial ressources are very small and I do not

have much travel experience in Bangkok I look for

these most cheap things. I look for somebody who can:

. pick me up at the airport after 8.40 p.m. maybe

with public transport

. bring to the train station at the day of travel

to Isaan

. show me around where to eat or can cook

together with paying for what is bought

. bring me to the airport at 1 p.m.

. can share his internet and computer with me

I look for:

. learning some thai together.

. visit public free libraries best all of them

. go in a wat, somebody told me there is free

eating twice a day

. get information about cheapest sim cards for

cellular

. get to know about the train to Isaan because

there are a lot of different rates for the third class

in the net and two different rates on the homepage of

the state railway

. stress relaxation

. a place to use free internet without bringing a

computer maybe some hours a day.

When I am back after two months in Stuttgart, then

maybe the very small pension from Switzerland will be

paid, so I can think about to move in the Isaan or

not and find there a family, friends, libraries,

people to share things maybe a computer and internet

and a motorcycle.

to me:

. I do not: smoke, take drugs, drink alcohol

. before I was fired in 1998 was press

photographer working in a news agency in

Basle/Switzerland

. after that I studied some semesters at the free

university Berlin philosophy psychology sociology

. I play chess in the net and with people but do

not like chess clubs which fight one against the

other

. I speek english and german and understand some

latin

. I am very old 48 as I am ill (kind of tensed

up, not best co-ordination and posture) I get a very

small amount in germany so I get more money from the

social state

. Think about making photos for money maybe for

a local newspaper in Thailand or to come together with

other photographers, or to sell photos on the net, or

to an agency which sells them on the net

. I like to learn, my intention is to be entirely

without prejudice
