Escama studio is a san francisco based company that has been working together with brazilian crafts co-operatives since 2004 to create fashion accessories made from recycled aluminum pull-tabs. there were originally 12 artisans producing bags for escama -now there are over 100. Escama offer around a dozen products including bags, purses and jewelry.

Wow! Amazing! So much for diamonds + animal skins; all that's really required is skill + imagination to create beauty.

And beer in cans instead of bottles.... ;-)

Of course you could melt the tabs and make basically anything, even an airplane!
