I see on discovery channel and various nature shows how they are amazed when other primates learn something new. Well the other day I was at a church with a friend (and no I didn't burst into flames ... amazing I know 555). This couple was there with a rather rambunctious little boy and who was truly adorable. The service was being held in the church schools gym because it was a post Thanksgiving dinner ... well feast because of all the food I will call. There was a center section set up with tables in the middle going up and down what would be the center court in basketball terms.   As he was running around and playing  at one point playing around the table he bumps his head. Now the table had a drop cloth over it so what had been just flowing cloth was suddenly hard and hurt a little bit not hard enough to make him cry. Plus everyone's reaction that it was not hard and he just learned forward to fast and was more of a 'dohhh' then an 'ouch' type of thing also helped him not to over react.  Then the amazing part happened....  he went to table and studied it looking at the drop cloth, touching it. Feeling where it was soft and being like 'ok this is soft and doesn't feel like would hurt my hand.' Then he pulled his hand away like ' hmmm but I leaned forward and it hurt?' So he put his hand further up and the table until he felt where it was hard and push against it. He was not like muscling against it just applying pressure to make sure it was really what his head hit then he actually lied his head against it! I guess this was to make sure it felt the same or something. It was something since I don't have kids or any brothers or sisters I had never seen and it was really amazing for me to see the developmental learning process. Human Beings are truly amazing not that I knock the wonderous other creatures on GOD's great earth either! Some times I'm glad I remember to take time and see those incredible things that just remind you how incredible and wonderous life really is.
