Thai culture...
Happy summer time. Sweden is now hot like Thailand. This is high time to sow and reap yummy vegetables. I have sowed seeds of Kana and Tonhom (sorry, I don't know what they are called in English) to two long pots. My mom send those seeds to me via post. And I already readped those young Kana's leaves and cooked Pad Kana with osyter sauce. And I also plant chili and zuchini. They are growing up slowly. I am waiting to reap and eat them. Next year, it is going to be more kinds of vegetables. I would like to plant a couple of banana trees and a lemon tree. I don't know if I can plant them as I don't have a green house. Besides, I am looking for a new flat coz I got a job offer in other city so I gonna move there. And I prepare for the next semester. I have to integrated Thai culture to my lesson on Thai language. It is exciting. My draft:1, Relation between climate and culture : -When it is drought, we needs rain and we pray for rains in many style, Boon Bang Fai and Hae Nang maew (cats). - Lay Kra Tong festival shows our thanksfullness to river. - Song Karn Day, it is too hot and we want to cool down by getting wet. Song Kran is also a family day in Thailand like what Christmas day is for western countries.
2. Traditions which follows Buddhist practice
- Lor tian kao Pan Sa and Hae Tian kao pan sa - Monks are also invited to bless Marriage ceremony (I am not going to mention about sinsod here.) - Boon Pa Wet. About Prawet san dorn
4, Culture of Mor Doo. Many Thai believe in karma and also presume that it can be read from our palm by experts (Mor doo) We gonna watch a short film about Mor Doo.
