Hero or heroine is a person noted for feats of courage or nobility of purpose, especially one who has risked or sacrificed his or her life.

Example are those firefighters who are trapped in The Twin Towers while trying to save life. (i salute them)

or those who do charity works for the sake of helping the poors and homeless, they are hero and heroine to an extent.

Different ppl have their own definition of hero or heroine. A more simple and modest example will be either our mum or dad, they could be our hero or heroine to an extent. or even friends who do something noble.

Mother Teresa is 1 of the greatest heroine.
