The word Famous Basement Jaxx have come forward to help us with our event on Friday night. Here is the article posted about it on mixmag magazines website yesterday!
Following the horrendous natural disaster in Japan last week, one London promoter has put together a huge fundraising event in aid of the people affected. Taking place this Friday March 18 at Plastic People, A Dance For Japan gives you the chance to give a little and hopefully help make a huge difference, and a host of superstar DJs are set to play
One of a string of events taking place in London, New York and Chicago, A Dance For Japan will see Basement Jaxxs Felix B, Ashley Beedle, Faze Action, Yam Who? and more all gracing the decks.
There are no tickets for the event, but party-goers are being invited to donate 10-15 in aid what is an extremely good cause. Two charities have been selected to receive money raised from the appeal. Door donations will go to Japan Red Cross, while online offerings will go to GlobalGiving, who are working with the International Medical Corps, Save the Children, and other organizations on the ground in Japan.
All DJs have donated their time for free and have a strong tie to Japan through touring, fans, family and friends be there and donate your dancing shoes to people who matter.
