Both Jum and I like the Thai festival of Loy Kratong. On November 13 Jum and I celebrated it over here in Amsterdam by making our own kratong. I have decided to see my friends more often. Yesterday my friend Marjolein came to visit me for dinner. I know her for 14 years. She was one of my first collegues. These days have been tough! First 'Sinterklaas' at school (a kind of Santa Claus), now it's Christmas time... The tree is all set in my class and the kids are singing their Christmas carols. Wednesday there's the Christmas diner in the evening with the children. Thursday will be the last day before 16 days of holidays! Then, I'll be on my way to Thailand again... Elephant Parade in Rotterdam There has been an Elephant Parade in Rotterdam. It all started 1st of September when 44 art elephants were placed in the city of Rotterdam. They could be seen on the streets until the auction on November 17 in the Rotterdam Zoo.The auction has raised 248500 euro which will be donated to 'Friends of the Asian Elephant Foundation' in Thailand and a project of the Rotterdam Zoo in India.Friends of the Asian Elephant will use the money for their 'elephant hospital' in La
