A worldwide survey was conducted by the UN. The only question

asked was:"Would you please give your honest opinion about solutions to the

food shortage in the rest of the world?"

The survey was a huge failure...

In Africa they didn't know what "food" meant.

In Eastern Europe they didn't know what "honest" meant.

In Western Europe they didn't know what "shortage" meant.

In China they didn't know what "opinion" meant.

In the Middle East they didn't know what "solution" meant.

In South America they didn't know what "please" meant.

And in the USA they didn't know what "the rest of the world" meant

We could already have solved this problem of food shortage. I assume not all of 'the powers that be' are taking this problem seriously. Too much population growth in developing countries will cause 'new problems'. The good thing is that Chinese government sees the potential and is investing a lot in Africa!

The Minister of Defense of Holland however posed some proposal today. He said he had a good solution for the lack of money of his department. As Holland troops are peacekeepers these days in the aria of Uruzgan, Afghanistan, he wants more funds for extra troops and helicopters. He said: "Since the work of our men in this aria contributes to the well-being of Afganisthan people, I suggest we should split the money which is going to the Ministry of Foreign Development, with our department".

Money which normally goes to projects stimulating local development all around the world (now 0.7% of the Dutch National Income). Don't you think this is silly and narrow minded?
