The troops....

Was talking with some friends that just came back from Iraq and bid farewell to a very good friend headed off for Afghanistan and you can't help to think about the hardships that the families and the soldiers have to endure (and this is not only for the U.S. troops, but for all the supporting countries). I don't want this to be a journal to defend U.S. policies, it's not about that, it's about the individual soldiers and thier families. I hope this war ends quickly and for all to come home. So for all the troops out there........be safe and come home soon.

Yes. I feel for the troops. It must be especially difficult on one's mental psyche to be fighting in a pointless war. Not too mention the fact that private mercenaries such as those working for Blackwater are getting paid minimum 5 times as much and are supplied with better weapons and armor. Bring these troops home! Of course what happens to Iraq after that?

Kennyeke- Yes, they should have been home long ago.

vbroker- I agree with your statement, but I think it will be a long time comming. Seems that Iraq right now

is in a power struggle, and the few are terrorizing the many. If the U.S. and the allied troops

were to pull out today, some a**hole like Saddar would fall into power and then it would just be the

same as it was before (only this time it would be the Shiites against the Sunnis).

Kalimist- I value your opinion, and in a free world we should be able to do just that, however, If you knew

anyone that had spent some time in that country, then you would know that the feuds between

the different ethnic groups will be the determining factor (the more brutal and strong will

survive and rule!!! ) But to bring this back on track, I stated in my journal that this was not about

politics, but rather about the soldiers and thier families and the hardships edured. Not sure if you

have lost anyone close because of this war, but I have.....several, and I'm tired of hearing the

news on a daily basis saying that one, two or three individuals were killed by an I.E.D
