I spoke to a friend of mine in the U.K that has a house in pi mi (central Thailand).  He said the flatlands in the area have been flooded almost to the extent of the pakistan flooding is this true as it is not prevalant in the western press.?????

I can't comment on Pakistan as I'm not there to see it, but there is definitely flooding going on here. Over 40 have died, but the Thais are taking it in stride as expected.
