Pattaya & my experience in Thailand

That's where my Brother lives, so I visited him in May 2006.I liked Pattaya as their is always a lot of activity going on.Sadly the Crime scene is getting worse.Pattaya has a lot to offer if you want to look.It is not Just about Bars & Good time Girls.I went to a couple of Bars. They are all the same & I soon got Bored. The only thing I liked about some of the Bars Is that they Had good Music & the Pool. I like shooting Pool. It is also free. I would pay for the  gsme if I had to, money is not the question. But It also gave me the opportunity to mix with the Thai's. But if it is your scene you are quite welcome to it. Each to our own. But definitely not for me, I think it is a complete waste of time. No I am not a Party Pooper. I enjoy a good Party with good Company. Even at my age I can still party on until the dawn breaks. It just takes me a bit more time to recover.Ha Ha I never mixed much with other Farangs I went their to meet Thai People. I always tried to speak Thai to the Locals & My Thai was limited.  I used to study the words every night & then go to practice them next day. They used to crack up with laughter  but in a nice way. I & you would Laugh as well if you heard an Aussie with his broad accent speaking Thai. Can you imagine. Ha Ha  But the Thai people respected me for making an effort. Why shouldn't I ?  After all I am a guest in their Beautiful Country. Plus the Thai people Welcome you with open arms  & extend to you their warm & friendly nature & their Hospitality. So I think the least anyone can do out of respect for the Thai People is to try & learn a liitle of their Language  as a mark of respect to them. When in "Rome do as the Romans do"!

When I used to stroll down Soi Bukhao most of the Local business people use to call out & say hello. Although I had spent only a month their, they all got to know the Friendly but Baa Australian. By acknowledging me as I was walking down the street reminded me of being home. I thank the Thai People for that. I will never forget their friendliness & their kindness that they showed towards me.I also  spent 2 weeks in Chiang mai / Chiang Rai visiting a friendnd. The atmosphere was the same as I had experienced in Pattaya.I hope to visit Thailand inNovember this year. God willing , it will happen.Khob Khun Lao jer gun Lagone. PS:_ I would've included Photo's with this Journal, but I haven't Nutted(Worked) that out. It is not the same as E-Mails which I have no trouble with. So I apologize for my Ignorance.

i clicked 'copy' on the photos and then 'paste' them on my journal before. it works the same as putting url link on the forum that i explained to u.

I know you explained that to me before. I remember

Yes I have tried that. It is alright when I click copy.

But then I go tm open Journal right click but it doesn't allow me the option to Paste. Paste Is greyed out so it is

not available to me. Something must be wrong. I don't know why that is.

Khob Khun Cateinbkk. Have a nice day to-morrow. Dekka

I'm glad that you have a good impression about Thai people. It seems you understanding Thai people much more than some Thais. We will always welcome you to thailand naja. Anyway it's such a good journal....

Ratiya. My plesure . I always give credit when credit is due.

I think the Thai pe0ple desreve that recognition.

It just really upsets me when other Farangs Think this is just a haven for Beer & Sex.

Most disrespect the Thai People. They don't deserve to be treated that way.

I

just wish that Farangs of that type should play up(CAUSE TROUBLE) In their own Country & not in any Foreign

Lands they visit

Thanks for you positive comment. Have a great week Khob Khun. Rtree sawd. Dekka

Who's kidding who -- I love Pattaya. You have all the infrastructure of BKK, almost no smog, constant party atmosphere, and a BEACH. Ok, not the best beach, but who cares. I love it there. As long as you stay up in the north end, it's quiet and a great place to chill. Having said that, I also love BKK, Chiang Mai, Koh samet, chang, and samui, grabi...hell, I love EVERYWHERE in Thailand, because everywhere you go there's great people and great FOOD!

I love Pattaya too inamorato25.

I much prefer it than Bangkok. I lands At Don Muang & headed straight for Pattaya.

The last time before this I was in Bangkok in 1969. I was a lot younger & stupid then.

I thought the Polution was bad then. But it is nothing compared to today.

Bangkok is enormous now seems to spread forever. I looked out of the Aircraft & I couldn't believe my eyes, It is so Huge.

Give me Pattaya or Chiang mai any day. San Kamphaeng is the place I like in Chiang mai.

i've never been to pattaya in the 6 years i've been going to the kingdom. like you said i go to see thai ppl not other farangs. there are lots at home to see every day, well now mostly chinese lol. i like upcountry and every other day is an adventure. i just don't like the nose picking :)

moo_noy.yes that's exactly the point.

Why go to another land & only mix with your own kind.

They are stupid . They could have stayed home & spent the Airfare on their Grog.Ha ha

As for nose picking I don't like either.

In a Public Place is a definite No No

In your own privacy it's acceptable. Who knows what Diamonds & boogies maybe found.

Only the person picking his nose in private will know.

Thanks for you comment. Take care Enjoy your Travels. Be Ha ppy Dekkla
