Does anyone out here knows under which circumstances would the bank freeze your account?I have a saving account with a debit card with Krung Thai bank on Friday I found out that I couldn't use my card at the store nor could I withdraw money from the ATM machines (tried several). I then went to the bank to withdraw money, they informed me that the branch has frozen my account and they didn't know why. There's nothing they could do and advised me to contact the branch. So I've been broke all weekend.....it sucks ass!So I'm just wondering why they would do that. I don't owe the bank money or anything. I kinda ignored an internet bill for a few years now cos I couldn't be assed to pay lol. Could the internet provider get the bank to freeze my account? That would be PETTY! Oh well.....guess I will find out when I go to the branch tomorrow. But if anyone has any insights they would be much appreciated.

Check whatever agreement you signed, I dont think any vendor could do that without your consent.

At my co, we do hold amount or block account to keep risk low or none risk, like if customer A has any transaction with over credit limit they have with us but they got money in their a/c then we do hold amount if we agree that transaction must be processed. But I'm working on corporate side so no individual a/c I ever handle.

I want to know why they did that to you too.... pls update!

Oiy, what's weird is that I don't have a credit card with them or any other bank so why the fook would they block my transaction and stop me from spending my hard earned money?

Cosmo, could be but I checked online and I have what I'm supposed to have on my account plus I've been with this bank for months and never had any problem before.

I don't believe a bank can freeze yours funds unless maybe the funds you deposited haven't cleared yet. If they froze the funds for someone you owed money to, they would have contacted you already.

check with the bank again, they need to give u the exactly reason. Is it unfreezed? whoever can freeze it, they can unfreeze too... Its crazy, what if you were in the need of money for emergency and important thing. Speak to the bigger person if u cant get the answer from one who u were talking to. They working for the bank doesnt meant they know all system and procedure.. but they could find out if they aint too lazy. Get them do it!

I only use KBANK and BBL for saving a/c. (Exclude BankThai which I dont hold my bookbank but my FC!)

Finally found out and I knew it would be something petty! Apparently, I owed them 20 baht!!! Not even my fault because it was them who mis-charged me less 20 baht!!! TWENTY FRIGGIN' BAHT!

Once that I got no enough money in my a/c and it was the time to pay annual fee. But when I got some fund deposied later then when I about to withdraw money they asked my consent VIA ATM to debit annual fee. I dont need to go to the bank for this.. But it was years ago and it was Kasikorn.
