I have been reading a lot lately about actors contributing somewhat large amounts to various things. Recently with the big push towards the presidential elections ion the US a lot has gone to the Democrat candidates which also means (per most of their platforms) socialized medicine. The call it Universal healthcare but the reality is that is what it is it's just marketing to call it something else like calling a 4x4 a suv so it doesn't seem a redneckish. lol  However, I have started to wonder about the people telling us that medicine costs to much and healthcare should be subsidized. First do not get me wrong the system isn't right but this is a big issue not to be solved in a journal. lol Secondly the last time you went to a movie how much did you spend? I went this weekend and it cost 24 for 2 people (this was just for tkts not drinks or snacks). The top 100 movies made over 20 million and over 25 of them made over 100 million! Now the actors who are saying we should have subsidized healthcare (most of which never have college degrees if they do it is never above a bachelors) are saying someone who has spent 8 years in university studying with limited to no social life, and then another 4-8 years depending on specialty on internship/residency and around $100,000-$300,000 in student loans should be subsidized. The actors themselves in 2007 have earned collectively for the top 23 earners over 553 million! However these same people are saying doctors earn to much? As for the politicians the last thing a lot of them know is the cost and care of real health care! A one term senator or representative guarantees healthcare for life! This is of course at the expense of the your tax dollars. I started to write this journal yesterday but got busy and then read about Heth ledgers OD from drugs...what a dumbass! These are the people we give millions to? Instead of the doctors who are out saving the lives of loved ones, impoverished nations (often at their own expense), and even doing charitable work in the inner cities of their own countries. When was the last time you saw a celebrity do that other Angelina and brad pitt (granted they kind of break the mold). Then as many of have read imperfectionists journals recently about her course load and amount of study hours required... which boggles the mind quite frankly about how dedicated some people are vs.. people whining over their liberal arts degrees! So who would you rather give millions to.... the guy who pretends..excuse me... acts like he knows how to save your ass and remove that tumor or the person who has spent 8 years in school another 4 years in residency? Most communist countries have had subsidized medical care and have been equated as almost 3rd world in their medical treatment by the way. So to all the medical personnel, nurses, doctors, medics, corpsmen, etc... keep up the good work!
