V DAY has something similar to the mother day and the father day. Thai Father's and Mother's days are birthdays of parents of the others, not that of my own parents. I wanna tell them let's forget about it. Still, i know my parents want to hear something from me due to the media bang, so I always say happy father's and mother's day. It doesn't hurt, I mean costs me any baht extra. V Day, We drove to a city where my bf got his new job in order to decorate his new room. I did not give him any special gifts extra. But I got a small doll holding a heart- shaped pillow written I love u in the morning, and I got chocolate and jelly in a heart- shape, of which my bf eat mostly in the evening. I said I did not have any special gifts for him. He said it is o.k. Does a traditional Swedish guys need some romance and special attention on v-day?

Hey come on now. He is a Swedish guy who chose a Thai girlfriend, so I say give him a big smile, a wet kiss, and well, you know......

The important question is, what did he do for you? You're the one that left your country for him, seems to me you deserved a little something extra on that day...

ps. I agree with you V-day like mother or father's day is just a day like any other. Truth is, we shouldn't need days like that. The problem is we tend to forget one another to often because we get so caught up in our individual daily lives. Days like this forces us to think about the others, and seeing how individualism rules today's modern society, it might not be such a bad thing:) .
