I am looking for a hotel to spend with my better half for a few days when I get back to Thailand.  Preferably it be north of Bangkok.  Any suggestions I am not really all that good at finding good places to stay.  Only thing I do want romantic for her.  For me I just want it to be within driving distance from the Airport.And if possible websites would be nice

I dondt understand, the question. The new airport is in the south, but you look for a hotel in the north.

I can recomend Mido Hotel, not expensive but very nice.

Don't you have any thai contacts? Ifyou do, ask them. I always ask around in the little shop owned by a young chinese guy across from my apartment. You can run into surprises, I just came back from a vis run and short holiday I asked if they had some tips on how to get there but instead one of the guys asked a co worker who happened to know a classmate from a while back whos mother owns a hotel in Nong Khai. They arranged a pickup from the bus terminal, I was invited for dinner along with the owner, her 2 daughters and some employees than they took me on a tour to show Nong Khai and the next day 3 staff members who were absolutely kind and fun brought me to the Lao border and cut a deal with a Lao taxi driver... so I kinda got more than I asked for, it made me feel a bit guilty even for all the hospitality and help I received.

The point is... ask your thai friends or contacts it's their turf after all

North of BKK and near the airport ....well....Guess u mean Don Maung Airport coz its location is in the north of BKK dunno if my guess is right Anyway, there are several nice hotels as the follows :

- Miracle Hotel

- Rama Garden

- Amari Airport

OK never mind the Airport all together I want to find a place North of BKK for a few days. Preferably within 2 hours drive
