Back home, but I left something behind.

I arrived back home to Auckland, New Zealand a few days ago. It has been over a month since I was at home, and it didn't feel the same coming back. This trip to Thailand this time around was the best trip ever - I met some amazing, kind, friendly and loving people, and learnt more about myself than I have for a long, long time.

I went for a trip into one of Thailands National Parks (Phu Kradung), and met a group of really amazing girls who kept me smiling, and taught me a lot about myself. They even introduced me to my first leech, smack bang on my stomach. 5.3 km up, 9.4 km around, and 5.3 km down, it was a real challenge but a very special experience.

I spent a lot of time in Udon Thani, and made many friends there. I met an american (Chris), and an Irishman (Rory), and together we had so much fun I couldn't forget it even if I tried. Chris taught me that just because I was his friend today doesn;t mean wed be friends tomorrow, so in some ways he taught me to try to be a better friend. I met some really cool Thai people there, and can't wait to return.

In Bangkok, I had the pleasure of meeting many of my Thai friends Id made over the past year, and can honestly say that although they were all different, they were all great people.. I wouldn't give them up for the world. I shocked mum when I told her I didn't get married, despite the innocent efforts of a very sweet friend of mine :P

Thank you to everyone (whom I don't want to name incase people take things the wrong way) whom made this years trip so so special, memorable and shining in my mind. I will be back next year, maybe for a year or more, to see more of Thailand, and walk back over my steps I made this year - I love you all.
