I listened to the radio this morning about a new plan from Ministry of finance... and coupon for poor people. That they will give money to poor people through Thai ID (smart) card. From my tiny brain..., I don't have doctor rate (yet) but I think this way won't work, and I think they trying to buy poor people loyalty.I bet the money are from my TAX for sure. Yes, I want to help them but please to do the right thing. I couldn't believe, this is the way that gov. develop the country. It doesn't help...

Think about it. If you are uneducated, no job and someone feed you...just sit and wait... and get some money like 500 baht per day, will you go outside to find a job? Make yourself better? I don't think so, cuz you can get money so easy. Same **** will happen again and again, like a circle.... poor people will be bad politicians' slaves, elect those bad guys to run this country, corruption, then throw a tiny slice to poor people to elect them again and again. When it will be over? I don't know.As long as don't develop education system, don't they teach people to work, get a job. Make people know about their right. Make them realize about "moral", we will get the same problem.So sad.

We have the same problems in the USA............however, even homeless people here will not starve to death, because they've much more options.........I believe, it's a little bit different in Thailand and other countries in Asia.........if poor, there may not be any options and you just die!

Potluck- People don't starve to death in the US because they have options!!!!!????? Apparently we have not seen the same part of the US you and I. I suggest (if you feel game enough) that you take a little walk in New Orleans or in some parts of Los Angeles, it might just give you the eye opener that you need.

I agree with you bCool, money in itself is not enough. Education, healthcare, political freedoms and women's empowerement are also part of the equation.

Holy ****....after reading this post I'm encouraged your country has a hope and a prayer if many others think like you. Your "tiny brain" is a lot more developed than many here and just surprised the hell out of me. Your perspective defines the difference between the government "caring" for society through its largess (your taxes) and individual achievement and he or she giving back through private charity. Congrats.........this is advanced thinking......and anathema (bad) for pro large government people. Here we call them far left liberals and they have a knack for destroying countries by enslaving the poor through "entitlements."

Potluck IS right.. there are options for EVERYONE in the USA except for the mentally ill who don't know how to take advantage of them.

Over 10% of the US population receives monthly "food stamps". This program is rife with corruption and abuse.

If other countries would stop propping up and protecting the false value of the US dollar, it would soon make the Asian Crisis of '97 look like a walk in the park.

All the governments and monetary systems in the world perpetuate the current system where a few elite super rich make decisions for everyone else because they want to preserve their own wealth and control and they have the ability to do so.

This food card idea may be a scheme dreamed up to stop all the protesting by the poor farmers and other disenfranchised groups as well as to buy votes.

One thing is for sure.. It is not an original idea, as I've yet to see one come out of this country.

Condo - Apparently, you missed the whole point of this journal. There might be "options" in the US (although believe me, they're not as attractive has you seem to think they are). But, without education and healthcare this means nothing... racial prejudices are also a part of the equation. Yes, people are dying of starvation (amongst other things) in the US, I've seen it. Again, I challenge you to take a walk in some places in the US and try to contradict me, you'll see...
