EXPOSITION OF CELEBRATIONS  The Royal Thai Government, the proud host of ‘Royal Flora Ratchaphruek 2006’ regards the exposition as an exceptional celebration for the country. There are so many reasons for the grand celebration, aside from the event being one of the most remarkable expositions ever to be held in Thailand. Grand Celebrations in Honor of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej -- The World’s Longest-Reigning Monarch This is an opportunity for Thailand and her friends to pay homage to His Majesty the King on the highly auspicious occasions of the 60th Anniversary or the Diamond Jubilee of His Majesty’s Accession to the Throne together with His Majesty’s 80th Birthday Anniversary. Throughout the long period of his reign of over half a century, His Majesty has worked tirelessly to improve the quality of life and the standard of living for all Thai people, regardless of religion, race, and language. Most importantly, he has expressed his love for humanity by helping the poor and the underprivileged. This is reflected through more than 2,000 development projects, covering such areas as public health, education, water resource development, agriculture, conservation, development of natural resources and the environment, supplementary occupations, social welfare, transport and communications, and others. His Majesty’s philosophy is to promote self-sufficiency based on simple, highly affordable but effective techniques and practices that the Thai people can readily and easily adopt in their daily lives and in doing so, become self-reliant. His Majesty is the glory of the land, the pride of his people, and an example for the world. His Majesty’s “Love for Humanity” is expressed clearly in all of his undertakings. His contribution to the lives of individuals engaged in the agricultural sector is insurmountable. “Royal Flora Ratchaphruek 2006” is, therefore, our way of expressing our utmost gratitude to His Majesty. It is our way of saying that this magnificent Kingdom would not have been this strong and renowned had it not been for the great benevolence His Majesty has extended, the knowledge and wisdom His Majesty has imparted and His Majesty’s guidance and unwavering morale support. The opening will be at 1 November 2006.
