Hey, I am here at the Canary Islands, Gran Canaria, to be precise, and I like it very much! Having a break is always good, especially when at work you are confined to a Teamsite that is very much in the desert and built up cheaply. Here on Gran Canaria, you can do everything you like and thanks heaven it is the low season with mostly elderly couples from Germany, UK, and The Netherlands - well, they might be a nuisance once thay are in front of you while travelling the narrow and windy roads here, but at least, they are not noisy! Right now, I am sitting on the balcony of my hotel room, I have a cheap wireless connection and I am happy! During the day - lots of visual impressions of landscape and during the evening - whatever I decide! And no screaming people who want to drag you into their bars or whatsoever! Gasoline for 68 Eurocents! Well, American readers still might be horrified of this )) But even if I have to go back soon, it is great, because I like going on patrols. Where I am, it is the biggest area to cover and nearly behind every dune landscape is changing. And as they had severe rains during September, the desert is green! - Still, I like this little break at a place that has so much to offer and my camera doesn't stand still (thanks a lot to the inventors of good quality digital cams!)
