Yesterday I was lucky enough to get  invited to the rehearsal and concert of the Legendary singer Martha Reeves and her sisters the Vandellas.Martha's Motown success started way back in 1957 with her band The Del Phi's and by 1962 she had started the Vandellas and they were writing famous songs such as "Nowhere to Run" and "Dancing in the Streets". In 2004, Rolling Stone Magazine ranked Martha and the Vandellas  96 on their list of The Immortals: 100 Greatest Artists of All TimeIf you want to know more about her you can read it here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Martha_Reeves Here are some snaps of the Concert and Sound rehearsal  from yesterday and some of her original soul tracks as she performed them in the 60's from you tube hope you enjoy them.

her sisters are not actually vandellas, or at least original vandellas. Saw them few years ago and they were then performing as 'martha reeves of martha reeves and the vandellas' though wouldnt be surprised if they had changed it slightly to make it seem like it's original lineup.

Funnily enough, considering they were huge from around 63 onwards, I am pretty sure they never released on Motown proper - I have couple of old 7" singles from about '66 and '67 which are both on the Gordy label (yes, fair enough was spin off of Motown but not Motown label proper)
