We have customer who is quite big in food industrial.  They have many factories in different Countries to cover every region in the world. For this reason, their purchasing director flew a lot to many Countries

I first met him last year when we success to sell our products to their factories both in Asia and Europe. After that, I tried to make appointment with him again several times but he was always very busy and travel around. Finally, I met him last Tuesday.  He said sorry to me for his tight schedule.  We talked about how our life is before start to discuss about business. It’s funny that he recommended me to see “Up in the air” since he feel like our life are almost the same as “Ryan” in this movie.

Yesterday, I stopped my work earlier than normal and headed to theatre. Of course, to see this movie. Maybe because of monotone mood of this movie, my colleague happily slept there. However I still enjoyed conversation and theme of this movie.

What the movie really is about  lifestyle choices, relationship choices, choosing independence and freedom versus commitment and well established interpersonal relationships. It has a lot of interesting and memorable quotes from this movie.

Ryan: You know why kids love athletes?

Bob: Because they screw lingerie models

Ryan: No, that's why we love alhletes. Kids love them because they follow their dreams.

Ryan: "Life is better with company" We can sense it come from the heart.

Ryan: How much does your life weight? Imagine for a second that you are carrying a backpack. I want you to feel the straps on your shoulders. Feel them? I want you to pack it with all the stuffs you have in your life. You start with the little things on shelves, on the drawer, ....Feel the weight it all adds up. Then you start adding larger stuff. Clothes, tabletop appliance, lamp, your TV. The backpack should be getting pretty heavy now. You go bigger. Your couch, your car, your home... I want you to stuff it all into that backpack. Now try to walk. It's kinda hard. Isn't it?

Now, I gonna set that backpack on fire. What do you wanna take out of it? In fact, let everything burn and imagine waking up tomorrow with nothing. Is it kinda exhilarating. Isn't it?

So now, what's in your backpack??
