The penny just dropped- but I guess I knew all along why the public at large accepts the word of the skeptics more than that of the scientists who are getting more worried as more and more evidence surfaces to support global climate change and global warming…it's natural...people don’t want it to be true!

It scares the living daylights out of everyone – we are being told that the safe wonderful planet we grew up on is about to kill off the human race…and they aren’t talking about millions of years hence, nor even thousands, and most likely not even hundreds…but that we are TENS OF YEARS away from a potentially deadly catastrophe…

This thing is accelerating even as we watch, wringing our hands in disbelief, ashamed that we have been involved in the possible murder/suicide of the entire human population…I don’t care about my own life so much, but what of my children?

Yes, its actually happening, and it is terrifying…why is nobody listening and at least trying to prepare in whatever ways we can?

Appreciate comments. People watch to much TV, they think human caused global warming is just another movie.

I believe we can mitigate CO2 & reduce damage to our ecosystem from GW by implementing Energy Efficiency & Renewable Energy policies. We have most of the technology we need. But, we are moving to slowly and not changing over fast enough from fossil fuel dependance to a clean energy economy.

Much cheaper to reduce CO2 pollution now than try to adapt to sea level rise, floods, droughts and pandemics later.

I agree with you Bruce that we have the ability. Its truely an evil darkness overcoming the earth and we have the power to fight it but man must overcome the greed that holds us back from doing what we must. As bad as things have become people still don't want to hear about it, giving way to Glenn Becks etc. Greed has manifested into an earth eating machine that will destroy us all at this pace. Sounds crazy and no one wants to hear it or believe it. Listening to Ted gives me hope as so many ideas from bright people.

One of most blatant ironies in the energy crisis, which I fully agree will spell the end of us all, is that the atmosphere which we are destroying actually contains enough energy for all our needs. And it is by further energising this atmosphere, through heating it directly and indirectly, that we are destroying it. And the more we alter it, the more energy it can trap, the more violent it becomes, the more energy we put into it......amazing eh? Instead of forcing us into extintion, the atmosphere could reverse its role and save us, if we were smart enough to know how to make that happen

In install kitchens here in the US besides playing music. Material is from the rain forests of south america. Hard not to be apart of the machine that is destroying us. But I agree we can do better and even turn it around.
