Ahh! Well that little exercise in governent workings and transfered money into the Kingdom worked pretty smoothly. But what are they gonna say after you move US$10K into the country? "No, sorry, bye bye." Not likely.

Anyway I am happy to report that I am now a legal foreign spouse of a Thai wife according to Thai immigration. I can stay in the kingdom for 1 year (no multiple entry or exit visas though- will have to buy them each time I leave and return for THB1,900) but I probably won't leave unless I start working again and then that would require an entirely new non-immigrant B visa anyway- which an employer would pay for- so I am okay with how al this worked out. It does not alow me to work, which is sort of stupid if you think about it. Kinda forces you to be a house-husband. BUT: I can stay with my wife, legally in the country with no trips out every 3 months for new visas and that is the most important thing in terms of US, time, and finances. It also leaves free to complete all the grad school requirements and applications for 4 grad programs in the US.

So stay tuned. We will know by end March where Angel of Yala and I will be moving, living and working for the next 2-3 years.

Also, want to say sorry to Ris for not joining the other night. I'm sure it was a great time but I just needed time to sleep and get better. This virus just does not want to leave my body! I will be back to party mode by Monday evening.

Peace/RC

Thanks. Hope to see you and all the gang(s) son as well. And I'm not a house husband yet. I will probably be back working by mid December or ealy January. Have several employers interested. We can't blow the wad of money for moving by me doing nothing. Not fair. Miss ya and everyone.

PC,

Sunday night la? Man, I committed to a see Alexander with my friends Mom and Dad but this might be in the afteernoon so.... we'll see! BNO's usually go later into the night and this should give me the room to engage in both parental care and boys keep swinging activities. Al la David Bowie.
