excellent movie
a european film festival was held in the WTC last week (not particularly well advertised) and they were showing 2 irish movies. first was "michael collins" who was the inspiration behind the guerilla war against britain, which lead to independance for 26 of the 32 counties. had seen it before, but went again and enjoyed it, although as with any big screen adaptation of "history" some of the detail is open to debate.
the second movie was "song for a raggy boy" and it was brutal, but brutal in a shocking and highly effective view of how reform schools in ireland were run by "religious orders". review of the movie is here ....

fantastic movie and had me close to tears on several occassions. shameful how we allow the weakest members of our society to be abused by people in authority and helped remind me why i have absolutely no time for organised religion.if u get the chance watch this movie !!!
