admin
Earlier this year Microsoft announced it was pensioning off the backend of Hotmail and replacing it with its Outlook mail system. Well, it’s now done. All 300 million-plus Hotmail accounts have been switched to the newer, fancier system, laying to rest the original freemail that started in 1996. funky_house
Yeah, and they have also merged MSN Messenger into Skype which is a real bummer.

funky_house
I don't know, I kinda like Skype. So do I. But I didn't really want all my MSN contacts (two accounts) as Skype contacts.
FarangFarang
So do I. But I didn't really want all my MSN contacts (two accounts) as Skype contacts. Ahhh :-) Yes, agreed. Skype was always sort of my business contacts. MSN was more for social and given out more freely. Not sure I want my Skype contacts and MSN contacts mixed together. In fact, I didn't even link the two accounts.

I might be wrong here, but I thought that if you don't link the two, MSN no longer works. Will have to check it out. Found this from Microsoft: Important update from MicrosoftWe recently announced that we’ll begin to encourage Messenger users to start using Skype. As a result, the Messenger developer program will end. Existing implementations that use Extensible Messaging and Presence Protocol (XMPP) will continue to work until October 2013. Existing implementations that use Mobile Service Proxy (MSP) will continue to work until March 2014. For support for existing XMPP implementations, please visit our Forums page. Yes, but let's say that I had a Hotmail/MSN account sexystud and I had a Skype account named sexystud. Since Skype and Hotmail accounts are separate, I have to change my Hotmail sexystud account or link it to my Skype sexystud account. If I don't want to mix the two, I can create a second Skype account sexystudmuffin and link the Hotmail/MSN account to the new Skype account while keeping the original sexystud Skype account.
