RoobLaw
à ¢Õ¹ÃѰ·ÕèÃà ÃÃÔ¡ÒÀÒÉÒä·ÂÃÂèÒ§äà From time to time in the reading and writing classes I've taken, some of the states of the U.S. are mentioned and written in Thai. Today, I needed to write the State of Calfornia in Thai. Someone here told me it's written like this: ÃѰà à ¤ÃÔ¿ÃÃìà ¹Õ Is this correct? Is there a listing on the web of the 50 U.S.A. states and how they are written in Thai? ¢Ãº¤Ø³¤ÃѺ

vampyra
Check out the Royal Institute little book of territory, capitals and country names: »ÃáÒÈÊӹѡ¹Ò¡ÃѰùµÃÕáÅûÃáÒÈÃÒªºÑ³±ÔµÂʶҹ à Ã×èç ¡Ó˹´ª×èûÃÃà ·È ´Ô¹á´¹ à ¢µ¡Òû¡¤Ãç áÅÃà Ã×çËÅǧ It's 40 Baht and available at Prae Pittaya Bookstores. Or you may check http://www.royin.go.th We use it at my workplace to check spelling. So it might be useful for Thai language learners who want to refine their written language They don't have all the places on this planet but you'll find major cities and islands there. Besides, some of the RI spelling aren't like popular spelling, for e.g. Alaska becomes 'ÃÃáÅÊ¡Ò' not 'ÃÅÒÊ¡Ò'. Or Maryland which is áÃÃÔᏴì or à ¤¹·Ñ¡¡Õ for Kentucky (gave me big headache at the start). Thai ppl would still know which place you're talking about tho. Good luck in your learning. ~v
