Freedom ?

Recommended Posts

I don't know what exactly is "Freedom". I know that I do what I wanna do. However, there's always a line that I do not cross whether it's family, or social expectations and sometimes conscience. So, I don't really think I have "Freedom" to do things.

BTW, i think ur topic has already been hijacked.

.......a motto of the French revolution and always interesting to me because liberty and equality don't sit well together.

But to stop being serious and answer the question:

1) Positive freedom: someone (man or woman) screwing around

2) Selfish freedom. someone (man or woman) screwing around (which they have the right to do) without admiting they are screwing around, thereby possibly breaking some hearts along the way.

3) Positive freedom: the fact that I can walk naked in my appartment any time I like.

4) Selfish freedom: the fact that I have other people working in my appartment and they really would not like to see me expressing my freedom to walk naked.

Conclusion: rational, objective, thoughtful choice. Freedom is wonderful, a real gift of humanity. Selfish freedom sets us all back. Few of us are rational enough or thoughtful enough to consider consequences...and I include myself.
