When I was young I already loved music a lot. Having a lot of older brothers we used to klitt together to listen to the hitparade on a portable radio. Being a DJ later in the local youth club I was very busy with music. Reading a lot about it, arguing with friends about which group was the best, which singer or guitarist was the most talented, it became almost an obsession. My favorite British bands were The Roling Stones, The Beatles, The Kinks, Eric Burdon and the Animals, The Small Faces .............. For the American bands it was CCR (Creedence Clearwater Revival), Jimi Hendrickx, The Doors, Blood Sweat and Tears, Crosby Still Nash and Young .............

By reading and talking a lot about it I was searching for the roots of rock and pop. I start listening to Blues (Muddy Waters, John Lee Hooker a.o.) and Jazz (Billy Holiday, Duke Ellington, Django Reinhardt a.o.). My interest in music always stayed, although there was about ten years that I must hv missed (I think the nineties). I went from The Rolling Stones to U2, from them to Nirvana to The Red Hot Chilli Peppers. There was always something worth listening too.

After my 'younger' years with all the rockbands I started also to listen to classic music from Ludwig Von Beethoven, Mozart, Chopin, Strauss ............

Yesterday night I went to a concert with John Fogerty in Antwerp. Rocking from the start till the end. A fantastic concert for 2 hours. Afterwards I talked with my friend about it and he said: 'What a repertoir this artist has. He can play 2 hours only playing his biggest hits.' And I said: 'No, he didn't play Susie Q, I put a spell on you and others,'

I have to agree with you. John Fogerty was a pioneer in Rock & Roll and I believe CCR was the first true Country(or Southern) Rock Band. In the mid sixties, there were so many great bands, that many get overlooked. John Fogerty will always be one of my favorites.
