Chris
Three former EC get 2-year jail term A criminal court on Friday sentenced three former election commissioners to two years in prison for neglecting to perform their duties to ensure a fair election. The court ruled in favour of the opposition Democrat Party which accused the election commissioners of dereliction of duty, saying they knew that the ruling Thai Rak Thai party was paying small parties to pose as mock candidates in the election but failed to do anything about it. http://www.nationmultimedia.com/breakingnews/read.php?newsid=30013705

Chris
Must have missed some news some time ago as they were already sentenced to 4 years before... bringing it up to a 6 years... They are free on bail however and have started an appeals process.

MikeAussieGuy
What are the odds if the TCP (Thai Corrupt Party), oops TRT I mean, gets back in these guys will be back out on a good behaviour bond and able to spend the money (that magically appeared in their bank account) within 3 months of the election. And yes I am sure they share the same cockroach infested cells as everyone else, surrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrre.
Chris
LOL @ Mike. Agree. At least it puts the message out to all the folks upcountry that there HAS been fiddling with the latest elections for all those who used to listen to the square faced pope's speeches on saturday mornings. I read a story he left for finland/uk/cuba with 30 suitcases... Hope they can keep him out. Maybe just give him a 3 month visa next time he enters Thailand.
