For what it is worth, the little I know about this, but dSLR's seem to be not so much cheaper in BKK than in for example net stores in Germany. If there is a price difference, lets say a small 10%, I'd still think twice to buy one all the way from Thailand compared to your friendly neighborhood netstore, just in case something goes wrong...... 0 macca_tirana
A friend asked me to look at prices for the new canon Eos 350D on my last trip to BKK. No real price advantage when compared to Uk. It was a little cheaper, but nothing significant. Especially when u consider problems in after sevice Not that the UK after service counts for much these days God, i sound like my dad more and more
0 khun_lung
No, don't buy in Thailand! Cameras are taxed heavily and are not a bargain! I live in bkk and recently bought a digital camera but bought it on eBay and had a friend in the USA bring it to me and I paid 8,000 baht, compared to the Thai price of 12,500 for the same model! Do your research!
0 afook06
I bought the Canon Power Shot SD550 online in the USA for $299. At the Siam Paragon, they wanted 22,000 Baht for the same model! This was about a year ago, of course electronic prices drop constantly......no, I would not buy any cameras in Thailand, plus the fact, you have to worry about copys....looks the same outside, but inside totaly different :-)

0 MikeAussieGuy
I am slso looking for a camera, both a pocket size, Sony T30 and SLR, Canon 350 or 400D. So far the prices in Singapore are cheaper than Thailand. The e Bay way though is definitely the best. A friend of mine that spends his life on e Bay is getting me prices for delivery in the USA. So far he's got them at 20-30% less than Bangkok prices. He reckons he will get me my SLR at a price that will have the T30 at virtually no cost compared to if I buy in Thailand. A tip if you do buy in Thailand make sure the shop gives the VAT paperwork, most are too lazy to do so, there's 7.5% for starters.
0 haiku_newyork
I know I will buy the brand new Sony DSC N2 next week when I visit back home in America! It is 10.1 mega Pixels, with a 3 inch screen! Nice and compact! Available Oct. 1 in the U.S. The price is between 450 and 499...
0 MikeAussieGuy
I just read about the Sony DSC N2, I just changed my mind about the T30.
0 haiku_newyork
I just read about the Sony DSC N2, I just changed my mind about the T30. You got it brother! Maybe you and I can get a volume discount! Hehe... I just wish that camera had a 4X zoom... Most only have a 3x zoom... Someone please explain the importance of Megapixels to me? Does it only matter when using a big picture or something? 3 inch screen rocks.....
